Cedarville RV Park

Overview

Cedarville RV Park offers a quiet and welcoming retreat in the heart of the Eastern Upper Peninsula. Situated within the charming community of Cedarville, this park serves as an ideal gateway to the stunning Les Cheneaux Islands. Whether you are beginning a tour of the UP or looking for a home base to explore the northern shores of Lake Huron, this destination provides a relaxed atmosphere that prioritizes peace and natural beauty over the hustle of larger commercial resorts.

Location & Surroundings

The park is nestled in a region defined by its proximity to the water and dense northern forests. Cedarville itself is one of the two main villages serving the 36 Les Cheneaux Islands, offering a unique coastal landscape that feels secluded yet accessible. Visitors can enjoy the crisp air and scenic drives along the shoreline, making it a perfect spot for those who appreciate unspoiled Michigan scenery and the slow pace of life in a traditional waterfront town.

Amenities & Park Features

Travelers will find well-maintained facilities designed for a comfortable and functional stay. The park features full hookup sites equipped with both 30 and 50-amp electrical service to accommodate various rig sizes. Essential conveniences include clean restrooms, hot showers, and on-site laundry facilities to help long-term travelers refresh. Each site is traditionally furnished with a picnic table and a fire ring, encouraging guests to enjoy classic evenings under the clear Michigan stars after a day of exploration.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor recreation is the primary draw for guests in this area. A short boat ride leads to the Les Cheneaux Islands, where kayaking, birding, and fishing are world-class. History enthusiasts often visit the nearby Les Cheneaux Historical Museum or take a day trip to Mackinac Island, which is easily accessible via the ferry docks in St. Ignace. Additionally, the famous Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie are just a short drive north, offering a fascinating look at international maritime commerce.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an excellent choice for paddlers and boating enthusiasts who want easy access to the sheltered channels of the archipelago. It is also ideal for RVer retirees and couples seeking a quiet, distraction-free environment compared to the busier tourist hubs located further west. If your travel style favors small-town charm, local maritime heritage, and the ability to explore the Eastern UP at your own pace, this park provides the perfect balance of utility and tranquility.

The park sold 2 years ago and is no longer a campground. It is a privately owned hoa community with each site owned by an individual. The website is owned by one individual (Chris) with one site that he owns and rents. It is not associated to the overall community.

We made reservations and our plans changed. We cancelled months before our reservation and have not received our money back on 2 campsites. Owner Chris Hill cannot figure out his reservation refunds with Campspot Reservation Services. Campspot has contacted him directly to give him detailed instructions on how to make our return and the amount of money that needs to be returned. We have called, text & emailed Chris Hill & the Campground directlyseveral times. Chris sounds like a very busy man who keeps telling us he's going to "look into it" but is too busy to do it at the moment of conversation. This maybe the world's most beautiful campground, we have no idea... but it seems to be the world's worst nightmare to get any money back from any cancelations, even tho they state that they give refunds in their cancelation policy. Our orginal reservations are still over a month away. Hopefully our cash will be back in our hands soon. I can't believe noone can make this refund possible. This is absolutely ridiculous!

We cut our 10 day vacation to 5 days. The rv park seemed more like a "retirement community". Very quiet which is great but nothing for kids to do. No beach access, they have a dock but sign states no swimming. Luckily we found an amazing beach 20 minutes down the road that had hardly anyone there. Our 1½ year old was grumpy the whole time we where there and we felt like a disruption in the park. The guy I talked to and dealt with, I asked for a partial refund (at least my 150$ deposit) but we got nothing back. We spent almost 650 for the 5 days we were there. I felt misled.
