Center's Outdoor Beauport

Overview

The Center’s Outdoor Beauport, known locally as the Centre de Plein Air de Beauport, offers a unique blend of wilderness and urban accessibility. Situated in the heart of the Beauport borough, this park serves as a serene getaway for those visiting the historic Quebec City region. It is characterized by its wooded landscapes and its proximity to a peaceful lake, providing a refreshing alternative to traditional urban RV stops. Travelers often appreciate the balance of natural beauty and functional camping facilities found here, making it a premier destination for those wanting to experience the great outdoors without leaving the city limits.

Location & Surroundings

The park is located just a short drive from the historic gates of Old Quebec. This prime location allows guests to retreat into nature after a busy day of sightseeing in the city. The surrounding area is lush with greenery, and the park itself is centered around a picturesque lake that offers a calm atmosphere. Being situated near major transit routes, it provides easy access to the culinary and cultural highlights of the provincial capital while maintaining a quiet, forest-like environment that feels miles away from the bustle of the highway.

Amenities & Park Features

Guests will find a variety of camping options, ranging from rustic sites to those equipped with electricity and water. The park features well-maintained sanitary blocks equipped with showers and laundry facilities for guest convenience. For recreation, the lakefront is the center of activity, offering a sandy beach and supervised swimming during the summer months. Visitors can also take advantage of nautical rentals such as kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards to explore the water, or enjoy the various picnic areas and playgrounds scattered throughout the grounds for family-friendly fun.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

A major highlight located just minutes away is the spectacular Montmorency Falls Park, where visitors can view waterfalls that are actually higher than Niagara Falls. The historic district of Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is also within easy reach, offering cobblestone streets and European charm. For those seeking more outdoor adventure, the park features several kilometers of hiking and biking trails that weave through the local forest, providing excellent opportunities for birdwatching and photography along the shores of the Saint Lawrence River.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal choice for active families who want to keep their children entertained with swimming and outdoor play. It also perfectly suits city explorers who prefer sleeping under the stars rather than in a downtown hotel. We used this as a one-night stopover on our way past Quebec City and were pleasantly surprised with the park. Although we didn’t get a chance to use all the facilities, the location was great close to QC and our site was fine. We just took whatever was left and it was not very private but there were some sites that were quite nice if you reserved in advance.

Let’s start with the positive. The shower had plenty of hot water, but was so small I had to step outside to change my mind. The lot was very tiny, no privacy, and garbage was left behind by previous campers and not cleaned up by management. To be fair we were here for only one night, and didn’t see the rest of the place

Probably the best place which is close to the city and has a taste of nature at the same time. Only thing bothers me is that yard on the side which caused a lot of dust, and blown on to the trail by wind. Well, I guess they don’t run year round.
