Charleston Marina & RV Park - Port of Coos Bay

Overview

The Charleston Marina & RV Park offers a unique coastal experience as part of the Port of Coos Bay. This facility is situated right in the heart of a working fishing village, providing guests with a front-row seat to the daily rhythms of the Oregon Coast. It combines the utility of a modern RV park with the rustic charm of a maritime hub, making it a staple for travelers visiting the Coos Bay area who want to stay close to the water.

Location & Surroundings

Set along the shores of the Coos Bay estuary, the park is surrounded by saltwater and fresh sea air. Guests can easily walk to the Charleston Boat Basin to watch fishing vessels return with their daily catch. The surrounding village features a collection of local seafood markets and diners, while the rugged shoreline of the Pacific Ocean is just a short drive away. This location serves as the gateway to the scenic Cape Arago Highway, offering unparalleled access to the region's natural beauty.

Amenities & Park Features

The park provides a range of practical features designed for comfort during coastal stays. Most sites offer full hookups with 30 and 50-amp electrical service, ensuring that even large rigs are well-accommodated. On-site facilities include clean restrooms, hot showers, and comprehensive laundry facilities. High-speed Wi-Fi and cable TV are available to keep travelers connected, while the pet-friendly layout ensures that every member of the family is welcome.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of activities near the park. A short trip south leads to Shore Acres State Park, famous for its clifftop botanical gardens and dramatic ocean views. Families often head to Sunset Bay State Park for its protected swimming beach and hiking trails. For those interested in the local bounty, the area is renowned for crabbing and fishing directly from the docks, while the nearby Marine Life Center offers educational exhibits for all ages.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for travelers who appreciate an authentic, salt-of-the-earth atmosphere over a manicured resort setting. It is a haven for fishing and crabbing enthusiasts who want immediate access to the water and professional cleaning stations. Because of its proximity to state parks and quiet beaches, it is also a perfect base camp for nature photographers and hikers. If you enjoy the sound of harbor life, this coastal destination will feel like home.

Gated rv resort all people were awesome inside and very friendly, price was amazing compared to rip off sun resort down the road!! This place is $55 a night with full hookups and wifi although the wife was crap but I had Verizon Hotspot so no biggie, we usually go to oceanside aka sun resort for a tent site but they were over $100 a night just to pop up a tent!! Rv sites were $100-$135 a night, your basically paying for immediate beach access! But at Charleston rv marina it's literally right down the road.

This has been a great place to stay, as my husband is on oxygen, need hookups, very clean and quiet, security on duty at all times, feel very safe to leave your area and go sight seeing, alot to do close by and within a short drive, lots of good restaurant, can walk to most, close, have stayed here before and will be back again, photos are places we visited while here, not to long of a drive and so worth it

Called in to make sure my popup tent was accepted, I was informed yes it took awhile to find the office. When got to the window we were lied to over the phone. It was a different story no pop-up tent. I recommend going to a different RV Park where there is grass and trees not just concrete if you can.
