My husband hiked multiple trails but together we did bald rock and pulpit rock plus spent some time at Cheaha lake! Stayed in Cabin 1. Very secluded but had very limited views. Still, great experience. Plenty to do or even super peaceful to just be and enjoy!

Great place with amazing views. Walk to the bold rock is accessible for everyone. Road leading to the park has some great views! Dog friendly. You need to pay admin to enter .

Chahea is a very scenic beautiful escape. Campgrounds, primitive tent and camper. Close to the speedway. Book well in advance for that. New hotel on the top of the mountain should be open end of 2026 to beginning of 2027. Lots of trails to hike. No motorcycles of trails so bring your mountain bike. See you on the trails!

An absolutely incredible getaway! There were so many scenic hiking trails that we ran out of time to explore them all. Having quick, easy water access just a short drive away for kayaking was a huge plus, and riding e-bikes around the park instead of driving was the perfect way to get around. We will definitely be back!

We had to change our camping trip location last minute. We were looking for a place less than 2 hrs outside Atlanta. Cheaha State Park was perfect for our vision despite our designated camping ground. There are more camping areas throughout the park. This place is extremely scenic and I’ll definitely visit again. They do follow strict rules especially if camp neighbors have their complaints. It’s not as secluded as we’d like but it worked. This location is about 30 mins away from local towns each direction. I advise you be prepared before going up the mountain. Certain areas are complete dead zones, but for the most part it’s moderate service. You do have to purchase a shower pass $5 if you plan to shower while there. Over all I enjoyed this park and I’ll be back (to tryout a different camp ground) Ps the grounds in the mountains are rocky and hard to place stakes in the ground. We did experience rainy days that didn’t end well for some tents.

Amazing, The Talladega national forest and Cheaha is the playground for Hiking, trail running, nature watching, and camping. It’s Quiet and secluded from the hustle and bustle of every day life. A great place to get away and enjoy the wonders of nature while being blown away by nature’s evolving artwork.

Beautiful, Clean, and Quiet. You will definitely need proper foot wear and a copy of a map for any trails you may be using. Phone service is sketch if at all. You will need plenty of water for any lengthy hikes.

We enjoyed our time here. The CCC campground was perfect for us. One other set of campers this early in the season. Lots of construction by the lodge so the lower area was quiet. We had a great hike plus the tower, CCC museum and boardwalk were pretty cool.

Cheaha is very nice and a beautiful place to visit, camp and ride the trails. A ton of hiking trails available also if you're into that. The only thingbthat keeps me from giving 5 stars is the lack of convenience amenities that other campsites offer. There was absolutely no cell or WiFi signal anywhere at the campsites and while the restrooms were sufficient, the showers were outdated and severely lacking.

Very nice park and campground. Stayed in upper campground, and had lots of space and view into the timber. Had 2 trails out of the campground which was nice. Take all your essentials because it’s a long drive in and out. New facilities under construction that will be done in 2026, so that will help with food. Definitely worth a trip !

Always a great stay at Cheaha. We go every year for multiple years now. Great cabins, trails, atmosphere, scenery, deer and other wildlife, etc. Campground and cabins available to stay in. Chalets are also available. I highly recommend this park and it's cabins. You definitely won't be disappointed.

The drive up here is fantastic! Great views from Bald rock , or pulpit rock. Bunker tower is must stop, and the country store at the top of the mountain is nice. The new hotel is currently under construction, but already looks amazing. I highly recommend driving down, or hiking down to cheaha lake. A great place to spend the day!

The top point of Cheaha Mountain has beautiful view, specially during the sunset. This is also good for hiking, repelling, or just spending some great time sitting on the rocks and looking to the horizon where sky falls on the ground!

The last time I was here was 27 years ago, when my new wife and I spent our honeymoon here. We came back this year for a more somber occasion, but this time we got a chalet instead of a rustic cabin. The old hotel we stayed in our first night all those years ago is gone now, as is the old restaurant, but they're busy constructing a new hotel where the old one stood. The hike to Bald Rock has been made infinitely easier thanks to the boardwalk, but the old trail is still available for those who wanna do it the old fashioned way.

Really beautiful place. Stunning trails, plenty of camp sites, the coolest little dog park. I really enjoyed the informative plaques telling of the wild life and the history of the area. This mountain has so much to offer.
