This was our first time staying here and this park had so much potential. It is an awesome setting in the woods and on a lake. Just needs to be updated badly. The roads are ridiculous. Full of potholes and not much blacktop left. The staff were awesome. Very clean showers and restrooms, just very dated. Needs lots of updates everywhere. This could be amazing again with some investment back into the property. They have tennis courts that are not even usable, a pool that is totally disgusting. Not usable at all. But the peace and quiet is the best. We would stop again if we are passing through the area. The roads and site upgrades to start would be the best place to begin. Just gravel all roads and level some of the sites with new gravel. They only use a handful of the actual sites that are there.

This must have been a beautiful park in its heyday. The lady at the front was very helpful and nice. Laundry room gets an A for being clean. Bathrooms looked clean but terribly in need of new paint. The poor lake was a mess and the main clubhouse was closed. Looked like roof caved in. All the cabins are falling apart and of course, the roads were hideous. BUT high marks for total peace and quite and the full hook up site was nice but they need more of them. Pool drained and mini golf, tennis, etc. Overgrown. This place could be so great with even a little elbow grease and a good dredging of the lake.

I'm editing this review AND laughing hysterically while I'm doing it because of the "owner response" I received from my first review. I especially enjoyed the part where they sincerely appreciate your review and will consult with their staff to address my issues! *laughing hysterically!!*. Here's why I'm laughing: On my return trip, I stopped there again thinking that they had taken my complaint about roadway potholes to heart! Well, if they had, the two NEW potholes I located while driving out must have produced themselves overnight! Seriously, as a manager don't you think it's advisable to actually DO something when a customer makes an observation that is both a safety and health issue? Maybe when someone falls and breaks a bone or destroys a stabilizer? Thanks for you morning laugh! First impressions matter, and the entrance and roadways in this campground are horrific! Some of the potholes in the road are so large that if you accidentally hit one you might crack a rim, or worse, dislodge a stabilizer or hydraulic jack! Seriously, how hard is it to have a truck with some gravel come by occasionally and fill in these humongous potholes! I actually had to drive on the grass in two locations just to get around them. This is a rather dated campground in need of much attention. The staff is friendly and helpful, but the campsites themselves are in pretty bad shape. The amenities, other than the pool area, are in deep disrepair. The tennis court is overgrown with weeds, and the basketball area is nothing more than a hoop with no court to speak of as it's just grass. Such a pity as this could actually be a really nice campground with just a little bit of effort. The only other Thousand Trails Campground I have been in that is worse than this is Lynchburg Virginia. The potholes there are huge ruts in the road with some of the roads completely impassable. Can you imagine paying $15,000 for A Thousand Trails membership and then have to navigate huge ruts and potholes with amenities in disrepair. First impressions matter!

This park could be nice again if the owners would concentrate on one area and rehab a section a time. Starting with the interior roads. The staff is wonderful and I would say they are what is keeping this park afloat. Beautiful and peaceful rv site—down side could not find a level spot anywhere on it but I will take that trade for the view and the beautiful sound of the birds singing while having morning coffee. Summing up the pros and cons pretty much level each other out

My husband and I stay at this campground quite often. The campground is nice but the staff make it so much better. Very friendly and will do their best to accommodate everyone. Showers and restrooms are cleaned daily. The pool is clean. It is a very country setting. Deer are everywhere. Good fishing in the lake. Can't say enough about how much this place has changed with great management. We are thankful.

This place has very nice employees. The bathrooms are OK. There are almost no sewer sites but dump stations. They have electric 30/50 and water. The sites are well spaced and long enough for our 32 ft travel trailer. A little outdated but it will accomplish the goal.of a place to stay.

The campground in not kept up. The tennis court and the miniature golf is in desperate need of repaired. The washing machine look like your clothes will come out worse then you put them in. Walked past the rental cabins and some had the windows broke out, missing the back stairs and rotten wood, they need to be replaced. No FHU with 50 amp services only 30 amp. The sites are decently spread apart. There were only about 6 to 10 campers so it was very quite and that was a plus. Nothing to do locally and defiantly nothing to do at the campground maybe fishing . As you come in and if you make a right hand turn after the gate and pulling a trailer make sure that you make a wide turn or you will drag your trailer bumper as I did. As you come in you will notice what I think the office building which looks like the roof is leaking and they just threw a tarp over it. This campground could be a very nice campground if they decided to put some money into it and fix it up.

Most campsites are unlevel. Roads need repair. Employees are very helpful and friendly.

We have camped for over 30 years and this ranked as the worst place we have ever camped. We do research the places we stay on our trips but the pictures on the website are so deceiving. The other bad reviews didn’t match what we saw on their pictures. Should have listened to the bad reviews. They weren’t exaggerating. Had problems with electrical and the bathrooms were full of cob webs and dead bugs and were run down. Terrible roads . No sewer available. 50 bucks for electrical problems and no sewer is a definite thumbs down. I would not hook up to their electrical without a surge protector. Glad we only stayed one night. Hope someone actually reads this and try’s to update this campground. Could have been a nice stop.
