Mind Set On Travel

Wanted a nice hike to take from All Trails and found this hike in Cemetery Loop and Indian Loop. Just under 4 miles it was a nice hike. There are camp ground, RV sites, playgrounds with jungle gym’s basketball courts. They also have a Frisbee golf course in the woods which follows the hike path. Also loved all inspirational guidance signs along the pathway. Enjoy.

Beautiful trails with wide, sturdy access ramps, forest meditation opportunities, outdoor fitness equipment, full RV hookups, optional overhead lighting at sites and at electrical hookup posts, and even curbside trash pickup. I would 100% stay again.

Top notch place. Trails are wonderful and the basketball courts is the best we've seen through our travels along the gulf coast region. We will return next year for sure and camp as well. Planned improvements will be nice to see in the beach area when completed.

We've been here almost 3 weeks. The only reason I downgraded to 4 stars and not 5 is the noise coming from I-65. If the wind is from the West it isn't bad at all, but if it comes out of the East it is rather loud. I've had to run a sound machine at night trying to sleep to cover up the noise. The whole Park was revamped this past year and is wonderful. Level concrete pads, new blacktop road, all new electrical circuits, all new water. Security gates into the park and also into the campground area. They have touchpad controls. They have good electricity here and 5G Verizon cell phone service. There are miles and miles of trails to run or hike, and I think they have three or four 18 hole frisbee courses, the playground is all new and has the rubber matting. New bathroom facilities in both the playground area and the campground. Washer and dryer facilities included. The ONLY drawback is the road noise. A campground itself is very peaceful, except for the traffic noise. If you do make it here, be sure to see the USS Alabama. It's only 10 minutes from here and well worth the visit.

Overnight stay while traveling through the area. Very pleased with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Beautiful campsite with plenty of room to back our 34 ft 5th wheel into. Would definitely stay here again.

Wow! What a great place for camping. Wish we could have stayed longer. All the staff we encountered were super friendly. Big rig friendly. Big beautiful easy entry sites. All have fire ring with grill grate. Also has separate free standing grill and an oversized picnic table. Each site has a lamp post that you can turn on or off. Lights on all the electric posts as well. Nicely paved. Clean facilities. Nice huge brand new playground for the kiddos. Tons of covered picnic areas. They also have a beach area on a river that looked nice for summer. Definitely would recommend this place. Hiking trails too

Boo-No more kayak rentals! You can still bring your own, but I do wish they would publish that info on website or somewhere obvious. Way-finding signs are desperately needed in the park and on the way there. The water access area still needs updates and maybe some big warnings about alligators would be responsible. (I saw an 8ft-er up the creek.) Every employee I encountered was solidly inside their phone.

This park is dope af! Tons of trails to hike, some super cool rustic campsites by the creek, Frisbee golf course with a beautiful sweet skunky aroma coming from it, kayak launch, beach, and probably a bunch of stuff I don't even know about. Great place to walk your dog and/or hunt for mushies. My wife and I found an absolute goldmine of Chanterelles in a secret location that is super hard to find so don't even bother going to look for it. We also found a non-venoumous snake, but don't worry he was just hanging out people watching.

We are pleased to see all of the renovations and equipment updates completed at the park. It has been one of our favorite local spots for swimming and trails and we were excited for the re-opening. There a couple of reasons for only being able to give 4 stars. The restrooms that used to stay well-maintained and clean were less than satisfactory during our last two most recent visits. There was no toilet paper or soap in either the men's or women's restroom. While I understand that a busy day can cause stocked supplies to go quickly, when I asked one of the many workers on golf carts about it, they laughed and said, "Yeah there isn't any anywhere." The restrooms were very unclean, and no attention seemed to be going toward them despite golf carts with 2-3 workers riding around, stopping to talk to people. It was just disappointing to see that no one was taking it as a priority even though this was obviously a health concern. The employees were nice enough, and I do feel like they were watching for safety concerns - swimmers, boats coming through, cars speeding, etc. I would just rather the park charge a small fee again so that needed supplies can stay stocked.

The renovations are wonderful. Great new playground. Trails. Beach access to the river. Sports areas. Tennis, basketball, volleyball, soccer.

There were so many parts that we didn't have enough time in the day to explore it all. They have security/workers that are present. Clean facilities and groundskeeping is kept up. Being from out of town it was quite a ride through a rough part of town but you wouldn't know it by looking at this place surrounded by woods and fences. We will be going back to explore more

So their website has this to say: Chickasabogue Park is temporarily closed to the public effective Jan 31, 2022, for infrastructure and amenity improvements. It will remain closed until construction and renovation are complete. It’s estimated the park will be closed for at least a year. Yet my review date is 01.14.24 and NOTHING done to the beach area yet.

This is the second time we’ve stayed there. It is a lovely park. And some amazing trails. Full hook ups an amazing price, $18 without any discounts nine dollars with passport America. They have some challenging by hiking trails or you can stick to the paved roads which is fine. They have a gorgeous swimming area , sports area and a family trail with all kinds of exercise equipment. Highly highly recommend. I understand they are doing a major renovation at the end of January upgrading all their utilities water sewer and RV pads. We will be back.

Good time to come kayak, there's not many people out here this time of year. Was just a little cool this morning but by 11 it was nice. Water is just now starting to get cool.
