Beautiful State Park w/hiking trails, swim beach, bb court, tennis courts& horseback riding! Bit of construction going on right now in wrangler campground, but RV & tent campgrounds are open for reservations.

This park is close to home. It's the first park I ever camped in over 50 years ago! I camp here at least once a year if not more just to get away, but not too far away. They are currently upgrading their park to include better power and possibly sewer for more RV sites. They've dug up the tent area, so I can only imagine what that will look like once redone. The wrangler area is also closed, but there are still some horses out in the pasture. The trails are still in tact as is the lake, which is as gorgeous as ever. Since the park isn't fully open, some of the amenities were closed, but next season, it should be back in full swing, and even better! My 5th wheel is 40' long and I fit easily into my site. The roads are pretty narrow, but the trees are trimmed up so that they don't hit your camper. The dump station is very roomy. The bath house is nice in the RV area, but in the tent area, it needed help, though it was closed this year, I'm hoping since that area is closed that they will re-do that bathhouse. The park is supposed to reopen fully next season. They have planted wild flowers throughout the park and they are gorgeous!

Chickasaw State Park is a hidden gem that offers a stunning retreat into nature's embrace. From the moment you enter, the beauty of the park is striking—lush pine forests, tranquil meadows, and a pristine lake that mirrors the sky. The trails wind gently through varied terrain, offering scenic overlooks, quiet creeks, and ample opportunities to spot wildlife. Beauty: The park is a painter’s dream. In the spring and fall, it's an explosion of color—wildflowers carpet the forest floor in April, while autumn brings fiery reds and golds. The lake at sunrise is especially breathtaking, often cloaked in a soft mist that makes it feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. Maintenance: Impeccably cared for. Trails are well-marked and clear of debris, although restrooms could be better, and the picnic areas are neatly arranged with regularly emptied bins. Park staff and rangers are friendly, helpful, and visibly dedicated to the park’s upkeep. Signage is clear without being intrusive. Serenity: Even on weekends, there's a sense of peace here that’s hard to find elsewhere. The layout of the park allows for plenty of solitude, especially along the longer hiking trails or tucked-away benches by the lake. There’s minimal traffic noise, and cell service is spotty—in the best way possible. Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a place to disconnect from the chaos of daily life and reconnect with nature, Chickasaw State Park is an ideal destination. It’s beautiful, peaceful, and clearly loved by those who care for it. A perfect day trip or weekend escape for nature lovers, hikers, and anyone seeking tranquility. Bonus: A park ranger also let us pet a king snake !! It was surreal to look at it from so close.

What a beautiful State Park this is! It's got it all: hiking, fishing, group lodge, equestrian camp, RV camping, tent camping, horse riding, golf, archery range, tennis.... BUT this summer of 2025, they are doing a LOT of upgrades and will only have 26 out of 113 sites open. Come to this park and enjoy everything but camping this summer. We'll be back!

We stayed in Cabin 8 for two nights. The scenery is breathtaking and quiet in late February. The staff was friendly and welcoming. A perfect stay for an introverted couple. Wish we had brought fishing gear. I hope this park gets more funding to update the cabins and offer more amenities!
