Such a beautiful place. $3.00 per person to get in. Watch the wild life or listen to the birds, or camp out. It's so peaceful out there. Lots of trails, love the pier, walking out on to the lake. mother nature at her finest, just breath taking.

This is my first time camping here so I never realized that you have to drive to see the lake or the pier so the reason of 3 stars is because of that and the poor information that how a heck to find it, not signs pointing where to go and the map they provided missing a lot of informations. We found it asking everyone. Our site was at the south and road very narrow so you better watch for kids playing, we walked the first time to find the pier and we decided to drive the next time, on my opinion the north side is a better choice. Not phone signals at all at the site so you have to actually drive to the entrance for some service so if you have an emergency forgetting to call 911 . Bathrooms were clean.

Spent a few days at Chicot State Park, cabins are the best in the state because of the fabulous view. Pictures are from cabin 4, which is dog friendly and if you have a senior or one challenged by steps, you won't have an issue, some of the others have steps to get to the cabin. 3 & 4 are flat walkway.

Very nice area - well maintained. The arboretum building is extremely clean and has a great exhibit. Pathways through the cypress swamp are easy to hike - plenty of subjects for photography. You could spend a day or two out here easy. Everything is very well marked and easy to get around.
