Loved our time at this campground! Beautiful setting that feels isolated even though it’s not too far from town. The staff were so accommodating to our group of three families and made us feel valued. They made the overall atmosphere feel relaxed and allowed us a later check out when our site wasn’t booked the day of our check out. We really appreciated that. We experienced beautiful calm mornings and evenings with some wind every afternoon which cooled down the hot days we were there. Most sites are quite open and not very private but this suited us okay for this trip.

Really enjoyed our stay in campsite 50. Right on the water! It was windy but we enjoyed it. So nice to cozy up under the blanket and watch the waves. My two very young kids could play within eye sight on the logs on the beach. They have a great playground as well they enjoyed. The bathroom with flushing toilet and shower was close enough to our site it was nice to have running water to wash teeth and dirty faces. We did two hikes close by that had great views! There are lots of crows and wasps but neither bugged us too much. Just make sure to put your food garbage away even when you step away for a min! Thanks! We will be back!

We had a great time camping at China Creek. As someone else mentioned, yes it is windy (stayed middle of July) and pitching the tent in the wind was definitely a challenge, however with the help of some big trees, string and heavy rocks we managed to secure our tent and it stayed put through 3 windy days! We stayed in number 57, so not quite on the beach but close enough to feel a very strong breeze. The amenities are ok, and after coming from Tofino we appreciated that everything was a bit cheaper. The grounds are split into 2 sections, one in the forest and one exposed closer to the marina. We were in the forest and would recommend trying to book there if possible. There were definitely a few nighttime visitors (hearing little footsteps and sniffs outside the tent in the middle of the night - eek!) so be sure to secure all food and trash. They also have lots of activities outside of fishing available, kayaking, paddle boarding, mountain bike course, playground, off leash dog park, hiking, and best of all -Wind Rider Kite School! Overall, we would definitely stay again. It was lovely!

We were booked there for a 3 night stay but only stayed 1. If you're planning on camping with a tent there, it's not a good idea. It's waaaaaay too windy. We were looking forward to having a nice campsite along the water so my kids can go swimming and hang out on the beach but we ended up staying in the tent most of the time because of the wind. We tried putting up some sort of wind barrier but because it was just me and my 2 kids it was too difficult and people just kept walking by and laughing at us. Our camp stove couldn't stay lit because of the wind so I wasn't even able to cook for us. We ended up just packing up camp and leaving so i can bring my kids home to cook for them. It was very unfortunate because like I said, my kids and I were really looking forward to going camping.

Such a beautiful location, worth the visit. However, there is a lack of organization. Lot of campers, RV’s, Boats. Not enough restrooms. Plus the restroom definitely needs an upgrade since there are at least 200-300 individuals using just 6 stalls. I booked an airbnb at this location, the view is worth it for me, however the cabin itself was not. I expected at least some bedding. Had to use my own towels, pillows, blankets. If they could improve on this, then this would be the best place to be at when visiting Vancouver Island and needing a place to relax. Overall, highly recommended if you don’t mind the cons I mentioned.

Excellent campground. Couldn't recommend more- with one caveat. Heavy industrial road going in. Make sure the car you take can handle it. If it can, an excellent campground!

Totally awesome! Great facilities and staff. The best fishing and kite surfing too!

Dirty, unkept and full of random fulltime spots with rotting out structures and make shift shelters. Had to clean up random wood pieces full of nails and screws, one water hookup shared between 4 sites about 30 feet away. It’s a beautiful spot and a shame they don’t maintain it. Bathrooms were not clean. We have lived full time in a trailer park for 2 years and I still would not go back.

Unfortunately this place has really gone down hill. Over 400 sites and no water or toilets for over a week. Garbage needs to be dumped more often and only 3 portapotties for 400 sites. Seems to be poorly run now. Several sites lost power also and no one seems to care at the office other than we will check on it!!

Quiet corner with surprisingly large choice of activities. Bike park, tennis, water sports or just boating, kite surfing lessons, hiking, surrounded by a jungle-like forest... the only down side is that it is reachable only over a VERY dusty gravel road. Car needs a lot of washing afterwards.
