Chinook Bend RV Resort

Overview

Chinook Bend RV Resort offers a unique riverside escape tucked along the scenic Siletz River in Lincoln City, Oregon. Unlike many coastal parks that face the ocean winds, this destination provides a sheltered riverfront setting that emphasizes natural beauty and tranquility. The resort encompasses over 100 acres of land, allowing for a sense of privacy and connection with the environment that is rare for the region. It is an established park known for its spacious layout and direct access to some of the best fishing waters in the Pacific Northwest, making it a staple for outdoor enthusiasts who prefer a more serene camping experience.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just a few miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, the park is surrounded by lush coastal forests and the winding waters of the Siletz River. The location offers a peaceful buffer from the busy traffic of Highway 101 while keeping the amenities of Lincoln City within easy reach. The proximity to Siletz Bay means guests can experience both freshwater and saltwater environments in a single afternoon. This geographic diversity makes the park a premier choice for those who value variety in their outdoor landscapes. Visitors often enjoy sightings of local wildlife, including bald eagles and elk, which frequent the meandering riverbanks.

Amenities & Park Features

The standout feature of this resort is the private boat launch and docks, providing guests with immediate access to the river for boating and kayaking. The park offers full-hookup sites that accommodate various rig sizes, ensuring a comfortable stay for long-term visitors and weekenders alike. On-site facilities include a spacious clubhouse for community gatherings and a dedicated fish cleaning station for those returning from a successful day on the water. For convenience, the park provides a camp store and laundry facilities. Families appreciate the open grassy areas and playground, which provide plenty of room for children to play safely within the resort grounds.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While the river is the main draw, the world-class beaches of Lincoln City are only a short drive away. Travelers can explore the tide pools at Roads End or hunt for hidden glass floats along the shoreline. Hiking enthusiasts will find plenty of trails nearby, including the spectacular God's Thumb hike, which offers panoramic views of the coastline. For those seeking different water activities, Devils Lake State Recreation Area offers freshwater swimming and boating. The area is also home to excellent local seafood markets and the popular Tanger Outlets for those looking for retail therapy between nature excursions.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for avid anglers looking to catch salmon or steelhead right from the shore or a boat. It also appeals to families and retirees who prefer a quiet, natural atmosphere over the high-density coastal RV parks found directly on the highway. If your travel style involves waking up to river mist and spending your afternoons on the water, Chinook Bend provides the perfect basecamp for your Oregon Coast adventure. It is best suited for travelers who want to be close to the beach but prefer to sleep in the peace of a forested river valley.

This place was awful. The woman who checked us in was drinking. I couldn’t even breathe 3 feet away from the stench of alcohol. So contentious and let me know five times that she wasn’t having a good day. Complained about so many things to me, a first-time guest. They charged my friends for an extra night that wasn’t reserved. The red-haired guy with a beard was so SO rude upon our checkout. Argued with me about whether a Chris had said he would adjust our rate because of the sewage problems. He said Chris would NEVER SAY that. He did say that in fact. THE RATE IS THE RATE this guy told me. Our sewage backed up to the point that we had to go use the dump place to clean out the tank. The bathrooms are embarrassingly horrible. We will never go there again. Rude staff and horrible conditions. The only pleasant part was dealing with Chris, the camp host. Very nice. Must be a drag to work with the other people there. Save your trip for a different campground.

We are on our last night here in July and it has been an awesome stay. We were in the “hub” which is the partial hookups spot and it was perfect! So much room for our pups to run and beautiful views. Loved the walking trails around the park and saw elk a few times! We can’t wait to come back here.

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOGS OR CHILDREN THERE IS AN AGGRESSIVE DOG THAT LIVES ON SITE First off, service was good. Location is nice right on the river. Everything is a little outdated as far as the dock, playground, etc. Had a good couple days until it all turned. A STAFF members pit bull got loose and mauled a guests dog. I truly thought I was witnessing a dog get killed it was AWFUL. The dog was in very bad shape after. And what did the staff do? Just put the dog away. The dog was allowed to stay on the campground where dogs and kids were playing all around!! I couldn’t believe it. We spent the rest of our time there inside because I was concerned of my child’s safety. That ruined our whole stay. Please do not put your children or dogs at risk.

This is my happy place. It is located just outside of Lincoln city, on the Siletz River. It is absolutely beautiful. It is prime fishing for King Chinook Salmon. There is a boat launch with several docks. It has a great fish cleaning station. Bathroom/showers and washer/dryer facilities. My family has been a member there for years. You will often see a herd of Elk come in and around camp. The little seals are fun to watch when you share your catch, while cleaning your fish.
