Chippawa Creek Conservation Area
Overview
Chippawa Creek Conservation Area offers a serene escape within the heart of the Niagara Peninsula. Spread across 300 hectares of diverse landscapes, this park centers on the picturesque Dils Lake, a 24-hectare man-made reservoir that serves as the focal point of the facility. Unlike high-traffic commercial resorts, this park focuses on natural beauty and quietude, providing a peaceful backdrop for RVers looking to disconnect while remaining close to major regional highlights.
Location & Surroundings
Located in the rural hamlet of Wellandport, Ontario, the park is situated within the fertile and scenic lands of the Niagara region. The surrounding landscape is characterized by rolling farmland, winding rivers, and dense hardwood forests. Its position makes it a strategic base for those wanting to explore both the Niagara Escarpment and the southern reaches of the Grand River watershed, offering a rustic atmosphere far removed from the noise of the city.
Amenities & Park Features
RVers will find a mix of serviced and unserviced sites suitable for various rig sizes and styles. The park features 30-amp electrical hookups and easy access to communal water taps throughout the grounds. Essential facilities include a sanitary dump station, clean washrooms, and convenient laundry facilities. For recreation, the park offers a sandy beach for swimming, multiple boat launches for non-motorized craft, and several kilometers of wooded hiking trails that showcase local flora and fauna.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
While the park feels secluded, it is only a short drive from world-class attractions. Visitors can easily reach Niagara Falls for a day trip or explore the award-winning Niagara Wine Region in nearby Beamsville and Jordan. For engineering enthusiasts, the Welland Canal offers a chance to watch massive ships navigate the locks. Locally, the winding Welland River provides excellent opportunities for paddling and fishing for northern pike, bass, and panfish.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for nature lovers and families who prefer a quiet, traditional camping experience over a commercialized resort-style atmosphere. It is particularly well-suited for birdwatchers and anglers seeking a calm environment to cast a line from the shore or a canoe. Because the park lacks loud entertainment, it is best for travelers who enjoy self-contained RVing and value the peaceful sound of the wind through the trees.

The place seems really nice with a good community and good vubes. The beach was closed when we went. Nice small park.

Gorgeous outdoor space that is well maintained. I come here to fish and relax mostly, but have camped and went swimming with the family. I make sure to come out here a couple times a year, it's worth it every time.

It's been a quiet week here. The washrooms and showers are clean and well kept. Some of the seasonal campers lots are less well kept making them somewhat eye sores. The camp ground is a great location for day trips to Niagara Falls, Outlet Mall, Grimsby and other tourist destinations.

Great family location! We keep coming back here and the kids love it more each time! There is activities through the evening on the weekend and a visit from the ice cream truck. We brought beach toys, bikes, fishing supplies & kayaks to use. The owner was extremely helpful & understanding after we had issues with the people beside us. We will continue to spend our summer family vacay here
