Christmas Mountain Village

For a quick getaway from Chicago or Minneapolis, this is an ideal location. Away from the hustle and bustle of tourist town. Feeds the urge to ski, at a very reasonable rate. Nice selection of different types of hotel rooms. I like the townhouses because the layout is conducive to giving space to an adult couple, a teenage daughter, and two rambunctious middle-school boys. Three TVs, a large dinner table, and full kitchen. We have also used the adjoining suite option, which was fabulous for bringing our friends along on spring break. Spring break is a quiet time to enjoy the Dells. We come here frequently.

I am writing this review to warn others to stay away from anything to do with Bluegreen Vacations Club. My timeshare ownership is at Christmas Mountain Village under Bluegreen. So many things I can talk about this company: terms and conditions that their salespeople did not disclose, dishonest and misleading information, and promises that were made during the sales pitch were not kept. When my late husband and I let them know of all the hardships of owning this timeshare, especially with the challenges in booking a vacation since availability is a perpetual problem, they told us that buying points would be a great step in solving that issue. They also told us that they would help us with renting out the timeshare when not in use. All those turned out to be not true! They still made it very difficult for us to use the timeshare, with the number of points constantly becoming an issue. They just never seemed to be enough, and they constantly wanted us to upgrade. They never disclosed to us that the maintenance fees would constantly go up, by a lot. My husband passed away, and as a widow, I can’t afford to keep paying off the skyrocketing maintenance fees. I do not want to travel, let alone do it by myself. I cannot use the timeshare any longer, especially with the distance. I cannot travel, not physically nor emotionally. I approached Bluegreen to inquire about terminating my ownership, and I explained my situation. They gave me a condition to pay them over $12,000 plus and exit fee to terminate. This amount is for covering the maintenance fee!! My husband and I have paid off the mortgage for purchasing the timeshare. How are they requiring me to pay them when they get the property from me? They already got our money for that property, which we could not really use anyway. What we paid for was way more than what it is worth! It is beyond words how difficult this situation is. This is heartbreaking for me since I really do not have the money. I feel that they did not care about what I am going through at all. All Bluegreen cares about is squeezing more money out of its customers, anyhow they can.

I have Timeshare I'm trying to get rid of. Yes, we spent $10k for it 11 years ago. Pay $900 every year for Maintenance Fee. And it's value is $0 !! Can't give it away!! Every transaction has a fee! DO NOT BUY A TIMESHARE!

The picture on the booking didn't match our cabin. The staff in the restaurant by the coffee stood around talking to each other (had to ask for someone to help me). The lines for the snow tubes was very long and the kids got cold waiting so long, went down 4 times and it cost $40. They should limit the number of people. The outside fire was nice but far away from tubing so I had no view of what the kids were doing. A platform over there w heat would be nice. Bar service was great. Checkin service and concierge were great.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We bought a park model home at Christmas Mountain. Since we purchased we have been treated with so much disrespect this year. We own business’s and value treating people like they matter. These people are extremely rude and some just plain cruel. Except for the pool staff they are great. Simple questions get made into big deals all because no one knows anything about anything. They all work and manage this place but non of them know anything. I’m met with “ I’m not sure to every question. “ I’ve spent more time stressed out here than enjoying myself. It’s taken countless blows to finally get the courage to leave a review hoping things would change. Word of advice to Bluegreen: train your people to know how to do their jobs and teach them how to treat others how they want to be treated. You all get an F for customer service skills.

We love our BG resorts! We are partial to this one as it is just an 7 hour drive for us. We enjoy the different types of homes you can get here! We have brought our family with us and had an awesome stay for 6 of us! The beds are a bit hard for what I like. The unit was clean and stocked. The staff is so very accommodating always!! The hot tub is our favorite in these colder months!

We were in Villa #1. Make sure you don’t walk around without your shoes on or your feet will go black. Everything was sticky and dingy. Oh it’s also nice getting woken up my a mouse crawling all over your stuff (photo attached). The next day we investigated the villa and found mice droppings in multiple places and mold around the windows. Finally we did reach out right away and all they did was set mouse traps and said they hoped we enjoyed the rest of our trip. This place used to be so nice and now it’s a joke. The beds are disgusting.

This resort used to be one of the cleanest I’ve visited, but my recent stay was very disappointing. The bathrooms smelled like urine, windows and screens were dirty, and overall cleanliness was poor. I even saw the room next door get “cleaned” in under 15 minutes. When Bluegreen managed the property, rooms were spotless and sanitized the difference now is noticeable. 1 🌟

The place was actually pretty fun. The food at Mulligan’s was decent and the cottage we stayed at was clean. But the workers here were really rude for some reason. It was kind of weird. The server at Mulligan’s was incredibly rude, but we still tipped her over 20% thinking she was just having a bad day.. but no, it’s not even that. Many workers here were just as rude as she was. Never seen anything like it. And the lifeguard at the indoor pool should be fired immediately. He was allowing children to go on the slide together, with goggles around their neck, and some children were even going on their tummies and pushing other kids down. He didn’t blow his whistle once. I was so uncomfortable that I had to leave. Other than the rude employees though, I would recommend this place for the amenities and fun atmosphere.
