On-site playgrounds and designated picnic areas make it easy for travelers to transition from a morning on the lake to a relaxing evening at their campsite.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Adventure is never far away with direct access to the extensive ATV and UTV trail systems that Oconto County is famous for. Hikers can trek up to the Quartz Hill overlook for panoramic views of the surrounding forest canopy. One of the most unique local features is Slippery Rock, a natural water slide located nearby where the river flows over smooth stones. Anglers will also find plenty of opportunities to catch panfish, bass, and northern pike within the pond’s depths.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal match for active families and trail riders who want a functional base camp for motorized or silent sports. The parking is free and the swimming area always has room for lounging around all day long. The 'beach' is grass and there is a short walking trail to 'jumping rock'. Walk down the trail by the dam and you can also get to 'slippery rock'. I have been going here for more than 60 years and always had a great time.

Love Chute Pond. I wish the sites were more level. A beautiful place. Disappointed in the people who camp there and use the park, they do not pick up after themselves, and leave the sites littered. We left ours clean.

Absolutely a grand place. Haven't been here in years, but will be back soon. Site was great. The campground manager was super nice and friendly. Hiking was awesome. Can't wait for our next visit!

Somethings I want to share about the campground. We do a lot of camping and try a few new places each year. Chute Pond “gets the job done”. Unfortunately we won’t place this on our list of “must come back” campgrounds. Sites are extremely uneven. Sites are stacked on top of each other. They squeezed 72 sites into a 40 site campground. You can see exactly what you’re neighbors are having for dinner if you know what I mean. . There are 4 showers that are quarter operated and the showers are cold. The beach is overcrowded and small and not dog friendly. There are public streets that run through the campground with moderate traffic so the peaceful aspect is non existent. There are simply much better campgrounds with many near by such as Boulder Lake. The only positive is that it’s a reasonably priced campground with electric.
