I really love this campground and I like going there baby about once every year every other year. You only get to stay for three nights. This last time I was there was a ranger or somebody working there that was going from camp to camp just talking very rudely to the campers. Apparently there was one woman that had stayed longer than she should have and hadn't paid the rent and he was taking it out on everybody in the camp threatening to call the sheriff and it literally attacking me verbally and attacking my neighbors which were three senior citizen women that only came to stay for a couple days I was only there for the three days with my daughter. This guy was off his rocket the way he was talking to people. There is no beach access unless you want to walk for a long way back behind the campground but it is a nice spot to stay. The Camp host does not clean the fireplaces in all the fireplaces were full of ashes and whatever else was in them. There's also skunks that kind of smell and other animals of course that come around the camp so keep your food up. The bathroom stink they're not cleaned properly at all. So why do I go there? I go there to relax and get out of the heat for where we live and try to have a good time but this ranger was just rude to everyone there and it was really sad to be treated that way. I know this three senior citizen ladies was going to turn him into his boss and I really hope his boss reprimands him for the way he was treating people. I found out that they don't take a debit card you got to go all the way into McKinleyville or eureka to get cash and we had just got there and didn't get the cash as fast as he wanted us to. He was just so rude I never want to encounter that guy again

Small, minimal facilities (2 vault toilets) but worth the fee to camp safely as a solo woman and right by the trail to the beach. Only tricky thing is nowhere to post your reservation on the sites so others don’t know who has reserved what unless you’re there in person.

Great spot to stop and tent camp for the night. The camp hosts are very sweet. Beach is close by trail. I would say the only downside is that it is near the airport, and they do have a few larger planes departing from them. It is close to the highway, but it's not that noisy.

Such friendly and helpful hosts on site. And the overall experience was amazing. We had a pop up camper and they allowed us perfect location to set up. Met some other campers while staying for 2 days. People were friendly and gave us helpful tips on what to visit while there. And the beach access was literally outside our door. Super cool location and area. Me and my son found dozens of sand dollars in the early morning. Not to mention all the cool stones and rocks we found. Just an amazing place to stay if you need a over night stay. Or up to 3 day stay. We'd recommend this place anyone. And thanks to the workers keeping plenty of toilet tissue in the bathrooms. :)

Great campsite right next to the beach. Clean bathrooms and basic amenities (picnic table, grill, etc). I don’t think there are showers. The sunsets here are spectacular and the beach is big and beautiful. Very dog friendly

There was two many people using two pit toilets. And no where to wash your hands afterwards. Not very clean at all. Hot by day and freezing cold at night. Sure windy. Good price tho. For us it was 23.dollars per night to camp in a tent.

It's right off the 101 and it's first come first serve, 25 bucks a night. The beach is a nice 5 minute walk through trail boards and then sand. We were able to have a campfire and just vibe in the atmosphere, everyone there seemed to enjoy themselves and the trail nearby is a hit, go early if you explore..

Dirty small camp ground full of vagrants. The beach though is beautiful if you can make it down the narrow wet board path with stagnant water and black mud. The beach is huge and mostly deserted with a gentle surf.

Good site, good facilities. Only real complaint is the walk down to the beach is a bit treacherous. The boards are half rotten and need replacing.

Noisy and bright. Few spaces open for covid safety. The tape marking off spaces was very loud in the wind. Close to the highway, so car sounds all night as well. Bright light in the center of parking area, all camping spaces surround parking lot. Good for a quick need, but loud and not private.
