This is a great little State Park with mostly shaded camp sites and nice facilities. It is extremely quiet considering how close it is to North Adams, and you can almost always find a last-minute spot. This is our local "go-to" if we don't feel like driving to Vermont.

My favorite park in MA to stay at! Great location (both nature and town wise), decent amenities, and soon, Yurts! I only say one star as the trail around the pond needs a lot of work, I hear as a result of recent storms, but it looks neglected beyond some storms.

You can have an hour of hike around the lake. Great nature, refreshing.

Parking is good as are the facilities. The trails were mostly well maintained, but some sections going through swamped sections had their boardwalk removed or scattered, meaning you had to walk through the mud or water. I was hiking through here in March, however, and that may have been the result of the snow.

My wife and I went with family and friends and this is a very nice off grid camping location. There are places to hike and a great Veterans War Memorial close. The camp ground is quiet and wooded but we had very little trouble with bugs.
