Cloquet / Duluth KOA Journey

We have stayed here at the Cloquet KOA over the last 12 years. In early June we came and tented. Staying back in the secluded tent area was a blessing. We now have returned early August in a camper cabin. The staff the three interactions we have had. Have been incredibly rude as well as short and rude to our children. Told my boys to "Get Out" of the hot tub or they were kicked out for the entire weekend. The boys weren't in the hottub 30 seconds and there was no other warnings. Sat and starred as we were parking by our Cabin. Over the year's I have done nothing but rant and rave over how nice this camp site was. However that will not be happening any longer. Along with the rude staff the bathrooms smelled awful. Our cabin was filthy, run down and many pieces broken (our key and lock), play ground was run down and at the end of its life. And lastly the pool (which my children and family were most excited for) is broken, cracked and broken tiles and smelled foul. Do yourself a favor and find a near by resort to support!!! We will NOT be back!

Train comes a few times during the day and a couple times at 3:30 am and 4 am every day. It’s a big mud pit if it rains and a dust bowl when it dries they are in need of adding gravel. They use the blower to remove the dust that settles on the walk ways which is nice but it blows into the bathroom and shower floor so now the shower floors are coated in mud. The playground and swing set they have is run down and rusted out. They happen to be celebrating Carlton daze happening that weekend so I also heard the sound of concert music in the evening on Saturday until midnight. Pool needed tending to also. Staff seemed pleasant. And it was a decent site. Not my favorite place to visit and will not be returning.

As a full-time RV'er and KOA member, I've stayed at numerous KOA locations across both the US and Canada. This location is perfectly fine... certainly nothing to get excited about. What's going to ruin your time is if you have to talk to any of the employees in their yellow KOA shirts. Seems like they're there to police policies more than anything. I've been to Germany and they're less militant about their rules. (Another guest called them the "Gestapo"). If you choose to stay here, good luck to you and yours... do yourself a favor and stay away from the yellow shirts. As for me, my RV, and my extended family, we will not be staying here again... and I will be leaving negative reviews on every platform I use.

Absolutely loved our stay at spot 53! It’s a cozy back-in site tucked away in the woods, which made for a perfect little getaway. We brought our 17ft Ice Castle, and it fit perfect. The location is super convenient—near the bathroom and only a short walk to the pool area. The campground itself was really enjoyable, and we can’t wait to come back for another visit. Highly recommend it.

It's a gem nestled in a wooded area. Campsites and cabins are nicely spaced. Many sites are wooded. Clean spacious restrooms, little store, game room and nice clean pool. Easy access to Duluth or Cloquet. Close to trails and water. Staff is friendly and helpful. Quiet.

This was our first time at a KOA. We will definitely go back to KOAs. If we are in Duluth again with the camper, we will stay there. Staff very helpful despite late arrival and no reservation. If space is available, they will help you pick out the best site. The grounds were clean, the dump station easily accessible. If you like trains this is a great location on the Burlington Northern. A nearby track offers a good view. It is only a few minutes to Duluth and most of that is highway. It is also is very close to outdoor activities.

Very family centered, the owners were very helpful and friendly. I reserved a camping site the same day I arrived. The only complaint I have is the site for my tent had roots, dips and some large gravel. Fortunately I found a kinda smooth spot not in a low spot because it down poured the first night. I will recommend KOA to my friends.

Its a great location for a quick drive into Duluth or to other activities on the north shore. The facility was clean and everything was operable as advertised. My family was particularly impressed with the staff. The entire staff was friendly and hustling around the grounds the whole time, making sure the guests had the best staff. We will be back.

Cloquet Duluth KOA is a clean friendly and great family campground. Owners and staff are amazing. We come North every year sometimes twice (hopefully next year 2 trips again) and we always stay here because it’s clean quiet and safe. We love exploring and visiting during the day and coming back to the campground to relax with our nightly fires. We started bringing our young son here in 06 and now our new granddaughter for her 1st trip at 6 months old. Att rating- we have never been disappointed!
