Coastal Acres Campground
Overview
Coastal Acres Campground offers a welcoming base for exploring the unique character of Cape Cod. This family-owned park provides a balance of scenic natural beauty and convenient access to vibrant town life. Unlike sprawling resorts, it maintains a quiet, approachable atmosphere that emphasizes the coastal environment. It serves as one of the premier locations where travelers can enjoy dedicated RV sites situated at the historic tip of the Cape, providing an authentic and comfortable camping experience in a highly desirable region.
Location & Surroundings
Situated at the very end of the peninsula, the park is ideally positioned within walking distance of downtown Provincetown. You can easily stroll to Commercial Street to enjoy its famous galleries, restaurants, and shops or head toward the bustling harbor. The campground is surrounded by the Cape Cod National Seashore, providing a backdrop of salt marshes and lush woodlands. Its location allows visitors to experience the vibrant culture of the local village while retreating to a peaceful wooded setting at the end of the day.
Amenities & Park Features
The campground accommodates various rig sizes with water and electric hookups, including options for both 30 and 50-amp service. Many sites also feature sewer connections for added convenience during extended stays. On-site facilities include the following features:
- Clean restrooms and showers for guest comfort.
- A laundry area to assist long-term travelers.
- A camp store stocked with travel essentials and ice.
While the park focuses on a traditional camping experience rather than resort-style entertainment, the availability of Wi-Fi access helps travelers stay connected while they enjoy their quiet coastal retreat.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Adventure is just outside the park gates, with the Province Lands Bike Trail offering miles of paved paths through sand dunes and pine forests. Visitors are minutes away from the most iconic spots in the area:
- Herring Cove Beach, known for its stunning sunsets and calm waters.
- The Pilgrim Monument, offering a historical perspective and panoramic views.
- Whale-watching excursions that depart daily from the Provincetown Harbor.
The nearby harbor also provides access to ferry services, deep-sea fishing trips, and eclectic waterfront dining opportunities.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for travelers who value location and accessibility, preferring to spend their days exploring the local culture rather than staying inside a resort. It is a top choice for couples and solo travelers who want to experience the artistic energy of Provincetown without the hassle of searching for public parking. Because of its proximity to the bike trails and ocean, it is also perfect for outdoor enthusiasts looking for a convenient home base that connects them directly to the natural wonders of the Cape.

We were a group of four visiting for Labor Day long weekend and had a very good time at Coastal Acres! All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The campground and facilities are very well maintained. It’s just a short walk away from anywhere you’d want to be in P-town. We will be back :)

I’ve been camping a lot and this has to be in my top 3 campsites I’ve ever stayed at. Super dog friendly. Very clean bathrooms and showers. The tent site had was nice and had its own dedicated sink for washing dishes which I’ve never had before in any campsite and it was a game changer!! Also it was so convenient where the campsite was located. There’s a trail that will lead you out to the street where you will be on the Main Street of Ptown in about 10-15 minutes walking. So no need to take the car out and deal with traffic and finding parking on the busy downtown area. Will definitely be back next time we are in Ptown or Cape Cod in general.

Had a wonderful tent camping stay this summer. The sites were clean and provided helpful amenities like a sink with running water, power outlets, and drain hookups. (Although not every site has each amenity.) The location was fantastic, only a 10-15 min walk from Commercial Street. And the staff was friendly and accommodating. Many sites have some privacy with trees and brush.

What a great campground and even better people that work there. We make the trip once a year from Virginia and stay around 12days. Well kept property and super easy to get anywhere. We often walk and only takes 10min to find yourself in the middle of shops, restaurants and bars. We drive a 43’ RV and easy to get in and out. Each year, we meet our neighbors and have become friends and still stay in touch hoping to were able to plan next trip on same dates together. Keep you the great work Costal Acres !! Till we meet again. The Mikes

Awesome camping experience. Tucked away behind a farm, gorgeous neighborhood, ancient cemetery and bordered by Shank Painter Pond. In the West end of town, you are 5 min walk to Commercial St, stores, shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, & tourist interest quenchers. Great mix of natural & cultural delights. Friendly & knowledgeable Staff at Coastal Acres & amongst co-camper's. A blast. Only regret, didn't stay long enough...
