Nice… not a ton of things to do. Beach is ok… campground is ok… but for the price, location and to relax… it’s actually quite good.

Called the Expo Center to reserve a site in Markin Glen (April 2025) (which is a blessing to our family, we love it there)and the lady told us that we had a red flag and would have to wait for her to talk to the man over the campgrounds... still waiting for a call back...why..? a red flag because we didn't have a good experience at Cold Brook and expressed our situation. That seems kind of childish and wrong. (Fall of 2024)Horrible communication... horrible customer service... never, again... Markin Glen is not like this! They did refund our money... definitely in need of better help and training, praying next summer will be better!

Not well taken care of anymore, it's definitely the geese's lake not the people that pay $30 a year to swim in it, beach is always covered in poop and the lake has a stank to it, half of the swim area is usable the other half is black muck with no warning when that starts

Campground was very clean where we were camping. Restrooms were a disaster - fault of other campers not staff. Great location and very quiet.

I have mixed feelings about my review. I do love this lake. We have fished and kayaked many times here and love the peacefulness being out on the water. It's not too busy and seems to be always clean around the parking lots. Last Saturday our truck and one other vehicle was vandalized/broken into. Not just a quick smash and grab but they took time to find large boulders(plural) to destroy our truck. Happened between 4pm-6pm on a Saturday, daylight hours. I just can't understand how something like this happened without being noticed and park rangers patrolling and at the gate. This is a county park and you are supposed to pay for a park pass. Why would you pay to go and vandalize vehicles?! Was parked at the boat launch parking lot. Just be aware. Again I love the lake and will still be back when we get our truck fixed. I am attaching the good, bad and ugly. (Good being the beautiful scenery and bad is our poor truck that took a beating)
