Comstock Country RV Resort offers a welcoming and well-organized retreat for travelers exploring the rugged beauty of Northern Nevada. Located in the heart of the region, this park serves as a polished home base that captures the spirit of the old West while providing modern comforts. Guests often appreciate the quiet atmosphere and the professional management that keeps the grounds pristine. Whether you are passing through on a long-haul journey or settling in to explore the Sierra Nevada range, the park provides a reliable and scenic environment to unhook and relax after a day on the road.

Location & Surroundings

Conveniently situated in southern Carson City, the park provides easy access to major travel corridors like Highway 395 and Interstate 580. Despite its proximity to essential city services, the resort maintains a sense of tranquility with views of the surrounding mountains. The high-desert landscape creates a unique backdrop, offering crisp air and clear skies. You are just minutes away from local grocery stores and regional dining, making it easy to stock up on supplies before heading out for a day of mountain adventures or historic sightseeing in the neighboring valleys.

Amenities & Park Features

The resort is designed with the modern RVer in mind, offering full hookup sites with 30 and 50-amp service. Many sites feature level concrete pads and mature trees that provide essential shade during the warm Nevada summers. The facility is well-maintained to ensure a comfortable stay for all visitors. On-site facilities include:

  • A seasonal outdoor swimming pool and hot tub for relaxation.
  • A well-equipped fitness center and clean laundry facilities.
  • A dedicated dog park for travelers visiting with four-legged companions.
  • Clean restrooms and private showers.

The clubhouse serves as a social hub, while the wide interior roads accommodate larger rigs with ease.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

One of the greatest strengths of this park is its proximity to world-class destinations. A short drive will take you to the shores of Lake Tahoe, where you can enjoy boating, hiking, and winter sports. History buffs will love being close to Virginia City, a living ghost town that tells the story of the Comstock Lode. In Carson City itself, you can visit the Nevada State Museum or take a ride on the historic V&T Railway. The nearby Carson Hot Springs also offer a wonderful way to soak and rejuvenate after a day of exploring the local trails.

Who This Park Is Best For

Comstock Country RV Resort is an ideal choice for big-rig travelers who value easy navigation and level sites. It is perfectly suited for retirees and couples looking for a peaceful, well-maintained environment close to urban conveniences. I agree with the other 1 star reviews, especially about the owners. I stayed here 10 years ago for 5 months when it was very affordable. The price now is absolutely RIDICULOUS!! Can't believe people are actually paying it when there are many other options when you own an RV.

We went to this park about 7 years ago. It has since been completely re-done and significantly improved. First impression is that it is very clean. Sites are relatively wide, power pedestals are new, and everything is well laid out. Most sites are pull throughs -easy in and easy out. All in all a great park.

I stayed here for 4 months and everything was amazing! The location is perfectly located near town & highway access. All the facilities were always clean and depending on spot location there was 2 laundry rooms with plenty of washer & dryers so you never have to wait. The resort is also gated so it’s safe to let the kids run around while having cookouts and such as well!! Sad to have moved but will definitely be returning when we are back in town!

Travel Nurse here. Sites are small. Enough room for rig and if you park really really tight - 2 trucks and not a whole lot of room for anything else. It's not very quiet with the highways right there, so don't be fooled into any "quiet corners." Our space #64, wasn't very level, and from the looks of it, neither are a lot of the other sites. The laundry facility is clean, and machines periodically will eat your quarters. Dryers are hot! So hot they'll singe your clothes, so watch out if you need to wash something expensive like scrubs. We paid monthly. $1380 a month, to be exact. There's an extra $50 a month in that for an extra vehicle, and electricity is slapped into that charge. We were stupid to pay that amount, but the only pro to accepting it was a lot of the other parks in the general area (Reno) want you to jump through hoops to stay monthly (credit checks, credit requirements, NV residency etc). Plus, they have a gate that shuts at night. And the park is out of the way, so no vagrants to really worry about. Other than the sense of security, I see no other benefit or amenity to justify paying that absurd amount of money. Might as well rent an apartment and store the RV if your willing to take a few extra steps and maybe save a few bucks. We've stayed at dozens of other parks throughout the country, and we're still blown away by how much we paid here.

We were going to make a reservation for two weeks until I saw your disclaimer about not accepting RV's older than 13 years old. Our motorhome is newer than that but it shows the ignorance of the park that under no circumstances will 13 year old RV's be allowed. We travel in a club with beautiful high-end coaches that are up to 20 years old and your park would be lucky to have these coaches staying here. You are doing your business a disservice.
