Stayed at Cool Sunshine RV Park and all the reviews are accurate. The park is very clean, bathrooms were immaculate, shower was good, and staff was helpful. It is located within walking distance to the local restaurants and there are plenty. We stayed here when we were going to Great Sand Dunes NP. It was about a 45 minute drive in. The only thing that we found weird was that the gate code keypad doesn't allow you to drive up to it to get back into the park. You have to get out of you car and go punch in the code. At night this is unsettling. I felt like it was a safe area, but as a traveler you just don't know. Everything at the campground is locked down by a keypad, so maybe it's not? Just didn't like that situation. Other than that, a great visit.

We had a great time at Cool Sunshine RV Park. We stayed for several days to explore the San Luis Valley, and we're so glad we stayed here. The location was central to all the things we wanted to do. (The Sand Dunes, Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad and hanging out.) The RV park was clean, the main building was clean and nicely appointed. The grounds were well maintained. We played "yard checkers." (That's a game of checkers played on light and dark paving stones with a set of two different colored cones.) Other yard games were also available. We have more to explore in the valley, so we'll be back.

Very friendly and informative staff. Location was great for easy access to the downtown area. The old downtown is within walking distance. The sites were very clean and everything on the pedestal worked. The RV park was very quiet, but you did hear some road noise from Highway 285. We would definitely stay here again.

What a joy to be able to stay at Cool Sunshine RV park. Everything there is clean and extremely well maintained from the sites to the common room, the laundry and especially the bathrooms! Also, the location was great! Good weather allowed us to walk into town (less than a mile) for dinner and drinks! We loved San Juan Valley Brewing; great beer and delicious food! What a pleasant stay! When we come through again in our RV we will make sure to stay again.

The sites are small and very close together so it makes spending time outside of your camper less enjoyable. The clubhouse needs more stuff in there such as more couches and tables. The bathrooms and outdoor areas are clean. The service at the front desk was helpful. It was nice that they allow families of 8 to stay in one site.
