We love this place! The campgrounds are clean and spacious with trees everywhere around the dam and the Iowa river. There's lots of wildlife and places to walk or fish. The price mid-May 2025 was only $30 for full rv hookups! Amazing! When we arrived, the camphost tending the check-in kiosk, Kathi Kester, was such big help getting us into a different campsite, one a bit more level than the one we picked on the website recreation.gov. We definitely would stay here again!

We have not stayed n the campground for a couple of years. Still one the best CG. Each summer we stay in over 30 campgrounds. Corps of Engineers are always great. They made some great improvements to the bathrooms. Very clean and so we'll maintained.

T07 campsite. The campground was easy to get in and out of. Very well maintain. T07 has full hook ups. Pad was level.

Tailwater is a beautiful recreation area outside Iowa City, Iowa. With the snow cover it is breathtaking. Although there is no camping this time of the year it is a great place to go and watch the many eagles that nest in the area. The eagles take advantage of the flowing water from the dam to get their fishing in.

Great for bald eagle watching!

Roads were a little narrow to get into your spot. Clean, picturesque place.

If you're planning to camp down here make sure that you book your stay before 7:00 p.m. they have a sign that says you are allowed to call this number and prepay for a site and stay after hours, but when I gave them my card number over the phone to pay for the campsite it keeps saying my card was declined. Knowing I had more than enough to cover for the campsite they kept declining it and it turned into a huge headache they would not work with me on it they told me if I didn't pay I didn't stay so either go during the day and pay or go at night and don't stay just fish

I liked it, was pretty good. Super clean. The only thing I would update is the playground. Everything else was good...
