Great place for family camping. Lots of camping sites with nearby lake that is open for swimming in the summer. You can also fish in the lake or just have some peaceful quiet time on the banks. Also lots of open green area for people to use for games, picnics etc... Pet friendly and decent bathrooms on site as well. We've been several times and my kids enjoy it there.

Wonderful campground. Some have full hookups. Bathrooms are very clean. Nice spacious sites. I recommend getting reservations 6 months in advance.

Love Defeated Creek. It is very peaceful. Campsites are nice. Easy access to water with ramp and beach. Great area to kayak.

We stayed there by happenstance and had a great experience. We were on a boat trip doing the Cumberland River end to end and we got stuck because we had to have an appointment 48 hours in advance to go through the lock/dam. One of the owners, a retired state trooper, found a boat trailer for us and gave us and our boat lift around the lock and dam so that we were able to continue our trip. He did this for free out of the goodness of his heart. We stayed in one of their cabins and it was lovely. What a cool place and a nice guy. Thumbs up.
