We stayed in May 2025, it was ABSOLUTELY amazing. Don’t listen to these bad reviews. YES. The road is bumpy, ITS A DIRT ROAD. YES the view is breath taking and worth every second we were there. We will be back again ! And it was a 12 hour drive for us !

3rd time to enjoy this park. Right on the San Juan River. Most sites have large cottonwood trees. Mesa views and some back to rocks for easy climbing for fun. Great fishing! Dark nights are great for stargazing. And there’s turkeys roaming the park.

Wonderful location if you want to spend time fishing for trout. The road to get to this campground is terrible but once here it’s wonderful. Wild turkey wondering around as well as mule deer. Camp hostess was very helpful and friendly.

This place is gorgeous! Lots of trees and shade for half of the sites. Sites 20-27 have the most shade. Easy access to the river via lots of trails and paths. We were here in late October and stayed in site 27. Easy to get level. Completely shaded. Each site has water and electricity (20 and 30 amp). No sewer, but a nice level dump station. Definitely coming back.

Beautiful campground with electric and water hookups. Sites are nicely spaced for privacy and ample space. Single loop with two restrooms at each end. Running water/flush toilets in the restrooms, but no shower facilities. Fisherman's delight! This campground sits right on the quality waters of the San Juan River, with great trails along the river. The road leading out to this campground off of Hwy 173 is unpaved, washboard, oil field road for the first mile and a half. About a mile before campground entrance is paved, and thankfully, the State has finally built a new bridge eliminating the old washed out, constantly flooded section of pavement.

Beautiful area. Well maintained and clean. Nice facilities. Easy access to the river for fishing. Unfortunately, you are forced to reserve online and pay an extra fee. They also charge extra for a day use fee. Those of us that pay for an annual day use pass do not need to be forced to pay it. That is a state issue and not a campground specific problem or it would get less stars.

Potential to be 5 star. Hellu rough road in. Park needs a little TLC. But, great views, services good. Weedy, and stickers.

Great campground! Hookups work well. Lots of space between sites. The cottonwoods are spectacular!
