We had a memorable night there; Joshua Tree National Park is our favorite park.

This is as good a place to stop as any along a long waterless section of the Tonto Trail. The only reliable water is at the crossing of Grapevine Creek. Most people will access this backpacking camp via the Grandview Trail, one of the non-maintained gems that most people don't visit. You're a little more likely to fall to your death here due to snow and ice, but your much less likely to contract a fatal, communicable disease since the crowds are all further west.

Great little spot about 4000’ below the rim. If your lucky the spring will be trickling.
