Cotulla / Nueces River KOA Journey
Welcome to the Cotulla / Nueces River KOA!
Originally built by legendary brothers Paul and Bill Cotulla in 1975, this award winning KOA campground is alive with history and excitement. Texas Longhorns once sipped from the spring-fed gravel quarries on the North side of the ranch, which now offers excellent bass fishing along with the Nueces River to the South. Splash away in the crystal clear swimming pool with friends or spend an afternoon exploring the expansive 73 acre property. A variety of tent sites, deluxe cabins and plenty of pull-thrus offers something for all your camping needs. Plenty of choices for fun with a children's playground, tetherball, volleyball, horseshoes and movies in the clubhouse. Let Sparky run free with all his furry friends at the massive Kamp K-9! We have 24-hour laundry and showers. Whether you're in town for one day or one year, you're going to love this KOA!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 months due to work. The campground is quite and clean,he swimming pool is big and well kept, and so are the restrooms and laundry room. Wifi is excellent! We had a water issue with our trailer and Gary, the park manager had parts and knowledge on how to fix. He also showed me a fishing pond in the back of the campground. This is a wonderful place to stay. Thank you Gary for making our stay in Cotulla a good time.

*Edit* we stayed for a year we felt very safe Gary and Randy were great very helpful with everything and very friendly. The field/walking fields were a lot of fun to explore with my son and the dogs, we were able to drive the atv down to it, but you can also walk to it, I wouldn't recommend driving a vehicle down it. If you are looking for a safe friendly place this is it. We had no issues with electricity. The WiFi was really good in the spot we were in. This koa is under new management started around a month ago, a lot of the previous problems in the reviews has or are currently being addressed. Corey and Sarah are very helpful productive management team. We just arrived and will be here for a while for my husband's job, they helped with two of our vehicles being delivered before we arrived, and they arrived late at night. They answered all of our questions and said if we needed anything not to worry to call them whenever. I also feel very safe here! They keep up great with the grounds and offered to trim any tree that was in our way for our awning to come out, they also have WiFi now as well as cable and sounds like some fun events will happen on the weekends. Don't let any reviews two month or older discourage you because this place is getting a great facelift. This spot is good for long term and over night spots we have a 40ft pull behind and a big truck with a 4 wheeler on top and it's easy to get in and out.

I've been here a couple of months now with my husband and his work crew. So far , I really like it. The price is reasonable, and Cory and Sarah have been super helpful and are always friendly and smiling. They helped me learn where the stores are and even helped me get my window fixed. They have been working hard to update the camp k9 and other amenities around the park as well. I highly recommend staying here if you are coming to Cotulla.

EDITED TO ADD. My husband also has to mow his own grass around his camper. For $650 a month, hes really getting screwed. Don’t stay here. The first time my husband stayed there, the office girl stole his money now for the last 3 days he’s had no water. He works outside all day and can’t even shower. Office and owner won’t answer their phones. Disgusting

I am shocked KOA is affiliated with this park. Continually having power problems, only on row D, for weeks. Periodically water outages. Our water has been off going on 3 days. Call a plumber, the manager obviously can’t get it fixed. Manager does get right on fixing the problems but the power issue continues to throw the breaker, only on the one row of campers. I’m aware of the temps here but our row is the only one having issues and just flipping breakers back doesn’t fix the overall problem. There is no way I would take my dog to the doggy park, it is grown up and not maintained. We are here for work and this is the worst park we have ever stayed at.
