One night. Very nice off beaten path camp ground. Lucky to find one open year-round in this part of country. Staff very friendly and talkative. Learned they have a lot of foot traffic and events in summer. They have grown fron 25 to 75 sites in 9 years. There were a couple trains only one used horn about 2a and few trucks engine braking hwy is 1-2 miles away. So quite doable. Woke up to 28⁰ 10/23/25 burr. Heading south now. Napa, vfw and post office in town of say 500???

County Line Campground, Summit South Dakota This campground was very tidy and obviously well taken care of. The front office staff was very sweet and helpful and forthcoming with any needed information. We also got a Good Sam's discount. Our site was well tended and had been graded before we arrived, it was flat and level and tidy. We had full hook ups, a picnic table and a grill at our site. The office had a little store which sold snacks, gifts, firewood, and propane. Although we did not use the showers, we poked our head in and they were 3 large individual rooms, with a private toilet, sink and shower. We did use the laundry which worked very well and was very clean. While we waited on our clothes, we sat out under the large covered patio and had ice cream from a truck parked there. Locals came for ice cream and chatted, as did some other campers. We were told that on Wednesday evenings they have live music which sounded like a lot of fun. It was super pleasant.

My goodness, what a pleasant lady at the office. Wonderful greeting. Great site, level and big pull thru. Picnic table and plenty of grass. Nice quiet location. Sleep with the windows open, great change for using A/C. Clean laundry room and bathroom. Check out the ice cream truck out front. At Check in I missed the truck because I was SOOOO TOTALLY IMPRESSED with all the flowers and decorations by the office. If I could I would give this campground 10 stars.

We stayed here for the summer while having some medical issues taken care of and we are glad we found this place. A true gem of a campground. Quiet, spacious, beautiful, clean, and great customer service. The sites are large and have great grass for you and your pups to enjoy. Summit has a higher altitude than other places in South Dakota so it has perfect summer weather, a few degrees cooler than everyone else and a light breeze to make it perfect. The owners Larry and Gilda are the best. They do so much to make all their guest feel at home. And they are great community members as well. Let's face it the town is small and doesn't have a lot to offer outside of fishing and hunting, but Larry and Gilda keep the store stocked with essentials and keep you informed about thing going on the in the area. This year they even started an Ice Cream Truck and let me tell you the Ice Cream is Fabulous! People come from all around for tasty treats. They also host a weekly music jam session. Most of the players are locals that are wonderful players but campers who are passing through also join in. All playing levels are encourage to join in. I am a beginning player and they welcomed me in. Each week playing with this great group has made me a better player. An added bonus they built a Dollar General this summer right on Hwy 12 where you turn to go into Summit. It is sure an added bonus to be able to get those needed items without having to drive. I highly suggest you stop over here for a night or more you won't be sorry.
