We brought our fur kids and a trailer and we really enjoyed it here! We also found a sea level benchmark along the beach!

!!Well.... I'm not quite sure where they get their "only 4 star oceanfront campground" claim, but it's deffinatly not from us!! While the view was great and private in the oceanfront camping area, I would hardly say the campground was worth the 171$ for two nights with no utilities. The closest bathroom was a port-a-pottie, and the other facilities were nothing to write home about. One ply toilet paper and coin operated shower. Have stayed at nicer and better equipped campground for less then half the price. Was not in the most ideal location if you were looking to day trip, and there is little to no cell service. The sites were empty considering it was peak season... clearly a sign. We were not impressed, wish I would have read the reviews prior as it was alot of money.

Find another park if you can! Wish I would have read the reviews before booking. My husband and I and his parents came from Ontario and spent 5 days at the beginning of September - BOF was on my mother-in-law’s bucket list. We were misquoted on the fees over the phone and they just shrugged their shoulders. We paid a lot of money and had no amenities they had 1 staff that worked 9-1 despite the advertisement open until 9pm. we spent the day sightseeing so we could not take advantage of the amenities or even get firewood. We left a message one evening asking if they could drop off firewood at our site and they didn’t even reply WE WERE THE ONLY TRAILER at that point 😮‍💨 There were only 2 other RVs that came through during our stay and the spots are so tight you have 0 privacy: There were 2 washrooms each with 2 toilets and 2 showers in the section we stayed in and one of the toilets was out of service. I could not imagine being here during peak season there must be over 50 lots with only 4 toilets! It’s such a shame really it’s a beautiful spot. The owner should have honoured the quote we were given over the phone or even apologized, she was so rude and dismissive. We were the only people there when we pulled in. They should’ve told us that the office hours were 9-1 so although we are paying full price, we were not getting full services. And at the very least they could have returned our phone call it’s mind blowing to me how they treated us like an inconvenience after collecting their money. They are in it for the $ not the customer service that’s for sure. The view was beautiful. The town was awesome, folks are very friendly and it’s pretty central to all of the sightseeing. We wanted to do Halifax Boardwalk Whale watching and a few other things all about an hour away. But it seems there are a tonne of other parks to chose from with higher ratings and positive reviews I realize it’s been close to a year since our visit I had meant to post a review at the beginning of this years season to ensure it was ‘new’ and possibly save people money and agro. We spent 3 weeks on the East Coast, 4 different parks unfortunately we chose this one as our longest stay and the last before we headed home, really put a damper on the experience. The other 3 parks were incredible.

Great views with lots of space, tide goes out twice a day allowing you to walk around the rocks. On our third day we seen dolphins in the distance by the pier, sites have water, electric and sewer, great spot, will definitely recommend even for tenting as the tent sites were very private and had amazing waterfront views

All I can say is wow!! First time there and definitely the last. I can see why during our 3 night stay there were only 6 trailers in the whole campground. When we reserved our stay, we requested site 32 as it seemed larger and we have a 32 ft motorhome. Email confirming our reservation stated we couldn't have site 32 as it was booked and it overlapped our stay, but if that changed they would put us in #32. It sat vacant the whole 3 nights we were there. On our second day there, the campground was basically empty and we were in the middle of a major rain storm and worker escorted a huge motorhome towing a jeep down the hill towards our site and she got out and came up to our place and asked us to move our car so this big rig could pull in besides us. There is absolutely no drainage there and my husband got drenched and his sneakers will never dry out I swear. When I bought a bundle of wood, I was told it would be delivered to our site and that we couldn't burn until after 7. We received our 7 pieces of wood at 7:30. The man that took us down to show us our site was extremely rude and obviously didn't like his job. If you are looking for a nice campground please don't waste your money on this way overpriced campground.

I am 20 years old and when I was younger I went to this place and it was amazing but now it is so bad. The person at the office put a cove sticker on my car and I never said she could. As soon as I got there she was bossing me around. The pool was very nice. The view of the ocean is beautiful. The laundry room is very small. I am here with my sister, my mom, my dad, and my grandparents and when we try to take a shower we need to put money in to get hot water. I live in wasaga beach, Ontario and I have seen better places to stay. My family and I will not be coming back here ever again.

Just another review that says the same thing. Beautiful view. Nice grounds. Tenting sites are well sheltered (RV area is an open field…. But the service was poor. Owners got angry when we brought up issues with the pool (kids got rashes from the water). Buckle and dime you at every turn. Want friends to come visit $5/head. Do they want in the pool? Another $5. Don’t come eairly or be late. That will cost you. It’s all very off putting…especially since it’s so expensive to start with. The province has lots of beautiful campgrounds. Do yourself a favour and somewhere else.

Cove Oceanview Campground unfortunately was not the family experience we were hoping for. Initially we had requested a standard serviced site, but after much correspondence it was clear that these sites were “fully booked” leaving us with premium (more expensive) sites. After arriving we were impressed with the view on the hill, but we quickly noticed that over our 3 night stay that nobody was camping on the standard sites we had originally inquired about. Not a soul. Maybe the practice is filling premium sites first, but we were discouraged that we (and the family joining us) had to pay more when the campground was pretty much empty during our stay. The grounds were well kept and we had no issues accessing our site services. The sites, however, are right on top of each other. Very little space between sites but thankfully we weren’t competing for space with the campground being empty. Just something future campers should be aware of. We were missing a fire pit and were initially instructed not to move the pits. We took one from a neighbouring site and put it where ours should have been. The playground is in dire need of attention/repair. When we arrived and allowed our six year old twins to access the playground my wife quickly noticed that not only were pieces of the wooden structure not secure, but the rotting teeter totters were placed high on the upper structures, extending out like a plank. She went to the office to report the issue. A full day went by and nothing was done to remove and install the equipment properly. My wife went back again to report the same issue and the manager had no knowledge of the issue. By the end of our stay the teeter totters were put back, but after the kids starting using them we pulled them off of those too because the wood was going soft. The heated pool looked great and the facilities were clean during our first trip swimming. This swim had to be cut short because all of our children started having reactions to the water. Rashes on privates, legs, arm pits, etc. Lots of tears unfortunately. We had to run into town to get some recommended products from the local pharmacist. Both of our families reported this to the office and in both cases (two different employees) not much ownership or responsibility was taken to support. One employee indicated that ice cream would have normally been offered I guess, but we didn’t care about getting anything. We just didn’t want this to happen to anyone else. We opted to avoid the pool for the rest of our stay, which is terrible because it is (outside of the view) the only thing for our kids to enjoy here. Our family will not be returning to this campground based on everything mentioned above. There are so many beautiful, well-maintained, and hospitable campgrounds in our beautiful province.
