We stayed one night here on our way home to Wisconsin. We wanted to see the Eisenhower museum in town. Campground host was very nice, let us choose our site, picked one in the shade as it was 95 degrees out and sunny. We didn’t realize our sewer was farther away than our hose would reach so we had to dump before we left in the morning, not a big deal. We were in site 15, pretty level, just had a few pot holes to maneuver around. Price was good, bathrooms were clean. Didn’t use the showers but they looked ok. Had a nice quiet stay.

We pulled in here after a long day on the road. It was a short drive from the interstate and through town. A quaint RV gem for a great price ($40). Several longterm tenants but they were clean and quiet. Gravel pads were very close to level for us with a beautiful grassy area for lounging. Would absolutely stop here again.

Covered Wagon is a great place to land for a night or two when traveling route 70. Rhonda was a great host, rates were good, and a visit to the Eisenhower Museum a must. Only complaint would be lack of restaurants. That isn't the campgrounds fault. Thanks for a great layover Rhonda.

This is an older campground - it looks old! The area for the long term residents looks trashy - too bad. The spaces for the visitors were okay - typical size for a private campground. I had to struggle to get the shower door closed and to get warm water. This place is convenient - an easy walk to town. But I think it's over rated.

A great little campground with modest rates! We stayed 3 nights with absolutely no issues. The restroom/showers were great. A relaxing time while we explored the historical city of Abilene, KS!

Arrived July 16, 2024, late afternoon. Hostess was very pleasant. Office check-in lasted less than 5 minutes and we were guided to our pull-thru, 50 amp electrical, full hookup site with partial shade tree coverage. Showers and bathrooms are clean, tidy, non-air conditioned and not fancy. If you need shiny tile and Ritz-Carlton use your RV shower. You're on the far south end of Abilene so it is very quiet. Stayed two enjoyable days seeing Dwight Eisenhower's Presidential Library and Museum, and Boyhood home with the Greyhound Hall of Fame across the street from the Museum. Campground was less than $40 each night with Good Sam Discount. Crossing Kansas on I-70, spend a night or two here for the small town Kansas experience.

Had a wonderful time, beautiful campgrounds. Management couldn't have been nicer. Rhonda put you right at ease and she put us under some nice shaded trees. Bathrooms are nice and clean and the laundry is reasonable. Recommend to all the campers out there to try them, and her lil granddaughter is a cutie pie

Could walk to Eisenhower center! I was camping with a little TearDrop and was worried about shade as the heat dome was coming. Call first! A spot was reserved for me under some lovely shade trees. Very short walk to the bathrooms which were quite clean. The shower area had a chair and changing area - nice to not have to worry about your clean clothes getting wet. I didn't go in, but the small pool was very well maintained. If I'd stayed another day I would have used it. Yes, long term campers but the ones I interacted with were very nice. The owners are lovely. I would stay again.

I stopped here a few times passing through and it's always been easy to get in and out of the location even with a long trailer. I've always gotten there after hours and it's ready to just pick a spot and pay at the office drop box/self serve. Full hookups and everything you need for an overnight stay. It's a good location before hitting more cities when heading East. A great deal for an overnight stay.

Place is clean and nice. Shane was a big help, showed us our spot with full hook-ups and WI-fi. We like it here... Good overnight price too...

This place is amazing and the guy who runs it does an EXCELLENT job!

Space for 5

Cons: -no one at the office. Must call number to talk to the owner or just wait for when you might see him around. -Not every lot has a picnic table -No hot water in bathroom showers -Only 1 washer & 1 dryer work in the laundry -The entrance is hard to spot. Pros: -The owner is nice and is trying hard to keep the park going while also working a day job. -nice, clean and level gravel lots -You can pull in and choose your lot then pay using his envelopes/payment box that is located on the wall between the men/women's bathrooms -Several of the lots have shade -There's a large pavillion with picnic tables -Spots aren't large but they aren't small either -Hook-ups are well-maintained -Absolutely no dog poo anywhere which is a HUGE plus. -2 miles from the interstate -It is a quiet & friendly park.

We stayed at this park on 8/29/2021. We made a reservation a few week in advance. We enter the park there was not anyone available to help us. As with most site we thought they would have a reservation for us . No signage and very little information. We finally called a number and the person we spoke to is said to self register and the in form will be between the men and women restroom. After talking to the gentleman he said to pick any site that was empty. The Park was not very attractive as you enter. It is odd for any site that is rated by Good Sam this high should be this bad for customer service. Our site was ok. Good area to walk dog. That is all I could think that was good. Travelling through several state this is the worst. Good Sam is not a dependable source to get find a good site. If they give a site that should only have 4 star then they need to revisit this site. i would not recommend this site to anyone unless it was the only choice/.
