The crater of diamonds was an awesome adventure..definitely doing again. A lot of work but worth every bit of it. My wife had a great time searching for her own diamonds.

Absolutely love this park. We've been here three times but this was the first time bring to the RV. Sites are spacious with some a little closer than others, lots of trees and very convenient bathrooms closeby. Very clean and well kept. Surprisingly, we have not done any diamond digging but it looks like fun. Bring a canopy and lots of water if you plan to dig.

Took my wife and 6 year old. If you think your you child, or teenager for the matter, will be interested and engaged for more than an hour, stop lying to yourself. It switches from being a family event to the parents digging up a ton of dirt (get the gravel, that's where the good stuff supposedly hides) then sift and sort. Make sure to wear cheap rubber boots, a rubber apron, and gloves that can be taken on and off easily with thicker rubber palms. You can get everything you need there, but I'll plug for Lovejoy rental about 2 miles outside of the park. Drive up, honk, and a very friendly woman comes out. Go for the $60 package. You can generally not set up the canopy (we didn't) because you don't spend a lot of time actually digging up the gravel. Most of your time is spent under their sluice canopies sifting with your saruca. Watch videos to see the proper technique. Take water, a beer if you feel like it, a wide-brim hat, sunscreen, and patience, loads and loads of patience. Pool opens Wed-Sun. After 1 day there with your young children you won't want to come back on a different day... ever. So go Wed-Sun and enjoy the pool. You'll never get another chance. They need a T-Shirt that says, "I came to Murfreesboro and all I got was a bucket of rocks, a sunburn, an experience I'll never forget, and located the end of my Patience. But, seriously, leave the kids at home or just drop them off with your teens at the pool while you search for your riches.

Great day with the family. Definitely need at least a couple of days. Dress is something that you can get dirty. Best look at the website for items that you will need. You can bring your own or rent from them.

Very patient and helpful staff. Campgrounds are very nice and attended to daily. At least while I was there. The "primitive" tent only camping is near the bathhouse/ restroom area. The tent and RV spots have their own picnic table, fire pit and pad to set tent up on. RV slots have power and water / sewer hookups. Couple nice hiking trails. Most are cement paths and suitable for a wheelchair. Beautiful area. Please leave yapping dogs at home.

Went on my kids field trip twice. (My daughter and then my son) they had a blast digging and looking for what kind of rocks they are. No diamonds yet. All the kids tell me they had the best time being there. Dog friendly and can bring your own equipments or rent from them too! I love their water station when cleaning up. Havent gone on there water part yet but it looks fun too. Read directions, signs, and be respectful.

Nice way to spend the day. Kids had a blast. Make sure it’s not a humid or hot day when you go! Bring lots of water/drinks. You can bring your own wagon, buckets and tools, it’ll save you some money and time waiting in line. Also bring a change of shoes for yourself and kids if you don’t want to get mud all over your vehicle. It’s great that you can go in and out.

Hard work!!! But what a very fun and exciting experience to have!! 💯 Found a few stones! We had a great time!!!😁 The tool rental is outside of gift shop at the pavilion. Easy to rent shovel, bucket and screen. 👍 A food truck on site with picnic tables area! Plenty RV parking and vehicles parking. Great experience to have at least once in your life! 😁 Dog friendly, but ensure your breed is people and temper friendly to others in such a large public area. They only accept friendly dogs on leash. It's sad because I saw a few breeds the owners had to pull extra hard to ensure not by people. If your dog cannot walk near crowds, that dog does not belong in public. The staff does a great job ensuring everything is safe fir a fun time for everyone! I appreciate that!

I visited the weekend of 11/7/2025 to 11/10/2025 with a Cub Scout Pack. The camping area was fantastic, the hiking trail was well maintained and the facilities were outstanding. The staff that booked our weekend worked with us as we wanted our entire group of 15 families close to one another, and they made it happen, for that I am very grateful. We took about 30 youth to the mining field Saturday morning and they were given a brief history on the park along with a Mining 101 course led by Park Interpreter Emma O’Neal, who did an absolutely fantastic job. The kids loved her presentation, she was very knowledgeable and professional. The biggest take away for me was her ability to talk to the kids in a way they would understand. The park has a fantastic interpreter in Emma. She definitely gave the kids motivation to be able to go out to the field and search for diamonds. This location will definitely be on our list to return to in the future.

Great place to take the family! Finding a diamond is a lot harder than you'd think. We had fun finding interesting rocks to take home. It was very hot and there is some shade, but I suggest you bring a large umbrella and a cooler. The staff was super nice and very informative. You can bring your own tools and sifters or you can rent or buy them there. We had a good time!

We came in through LIT airport and chose our hotel roughly 50 miles away from the Diamonds State Park. We opted to be there when the park opens in the morning which was a great choice - less people, easier picking for a spot to start and comfortable to „work“ outside. I recommend to order the admission ticket ahead of time and online. Our group had a lot of fun and looking for the „one“ is much more challenging as it might seem. There are helpful posters and areas to learn more about the prospecting. The staff here is friendly and helpful, the entry fee and loaner fees for equipment to dig for fame are reasonable. Knowing how this all works now, we will be back at some point.

Still a great experience, even if you don't find anything! Early October is still hot but not very busy. Very friendly staff. Camp grounds was AMAZING. Wi-Fi, private showers with warm water, outlets, water fountains with water bottle fill up, well maintained and cleaned.

This was my first trip to Arkansas and it was a great one... Love the walking trails and there's so much information in the visitors center on site. You can go look around at the Diamond Mine without paying the $15.00 entry fee... They only charge if you are planning to dig... An awesome gift shop with really decent prices all around... Got most of my souvenirs from that one spot... If you are ever in Murfreesboro Arkansas you need to make a trip thru here you won't be disappointed....

The staff were very informative and knowledgeable. They were kind and considerate. The park was clean and in good condition. Wish we had gone to the interpretive program on mining 101! Bring a bucket and getting a wagon was a great choice. We wish we had planned better by having rain jackets during the rain and more hydrating drinks but that was on us ha can’t wait to go back!!! Best anniversary place we have gone 💚🎉

Visited here twice on our trip to Hot springs and will definitely be back. The mining area is well managed with helpful staff, water fountains, clean restrooms, wet-sifting stations, washing area ( to get all the dirt off before heading back to the car), and multiple covered picnic tables. We didn't find a diamond on site but took our wet-sifted gravel with us to sort at home, along with some pretty jasper and a cool quartz geode. Items to bring: water/small cooler, sunscreen, shovel, bucket, wagon, small container for the shiny pieces you find, and sifting screens. *Fun little bonus: The gift shop also has free state park books that you can stamp for each Arkansas park you visit.
