Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA Journey

Our park is a quiet and peaceful resting place. You can relax and enjoy the views from all directions. Do plan to see some fabulous sunrises and be prepared for beautiful sunsets!

This award-winning campground sits at the edge of the Lost River Range and Mount Borah (Idaho's tallest mountain). The campground is only 19 miles from Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve, where you can explore vast lava flows, cinder cones, and lava tube caves created by ancient volcanoes. Discover mountain lakes and hot springs or watch for deer, antelope, elk, and moose. Ride your ATV up a volcanic dome or on the many trails in the valley - some city roads even allow you to ride to the trails. The Lost River Valley is now the "off-road capital of the West". There are literally 100s of miles of off-road trails to explore, right from the campground. Then quietly relax at your spacious site shaded by mature trees, enjoy the heated pool, or frolic with your dog in the pet playground. Stay in an easy Pull-Thru RV Site or a cozy Camping Cabin - or pitch a tent. This KOA has free Wi-Fi, a great gift shop and free morning waffles and coffee. Join in the fun at nightly ice cream socials (seasonal). Hunters receive a great deal during the season. Pool: Memorial Weekend - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 75 feet. Open from 1 April to 1 November. Your hosts:

Alan and Barbara Zimmer

Such a cute 🥰 and peaceful campground. We met our family friends who also camped here for a yearly get together. We all really enjoyed their "Home Theater" style Golfing simulator fun room.

Very Clean park and very nice area. The person on duty during the day was grreat and help us find everything and how to get to town without driving. Bathrooms were great and clean. A must stop if going this way!

Stayed in our RV at this location. This campground needs some love. Bathrooms were clean, but the whole campground was pretty run down. The "compound " next door played reveille every morning on loud speakers, along with the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem each evening at sunset. Not really annoying, just different.

Stayed one night after visiting Craters of the Moon National Monument. We had everything we needed. It's an older campground and appears to have several permanent residents. Everybody was nice and the place was quiet. The inground pool was out of order but there was a nice above ground pool with enough depth to swim some short laps. Plenty of space to let my dog get in a little fetch and run. They play the National Anthem at sundown and Reveille in the morning. Quiet otherwise and reasonably priced for a night
