Pros: Beautiful campground, surprisingly quiet compared to other campgrounds I’ve been to, had a site closer to the river area (#41) beautiful view. Purposely stayed away from sites near the road. Long walk to main bathroom and showered though. Porta-potties right behind my site which was convenient for those midnight bathroom trips. Appreciate the cleanliness of sites (if you have a tent, ground is quite hard to drive the stakes in) and the bathrooms were clean, could use better ventilation. Cons: I do not like how you can choose a site online but if you want to “keep” it, you have to pay a lock fee (extra $15 I believe). I booked two sites for family and myself and they just “gave” one of my sites away regardless of me mentioning I have family and the importance of us staying together sharing equipment etc, and we were traveling with kids! I just don’t understand how they determine to “give your site to someone else” it’s not like they didn’t have other sites available. They offered for my extended family to stay at another site but it would have separated us significantly further from each other. So why not give those sites to the people who you gave our site to? Needless to say we lost that money for that site that someone else got to stay on, extended family ended up staying in one site with me with two tents. For all that I would have paid for 1 site, but online booking has a limit to the amount of people you can book and how many tents you can have on one site! I’m just sad I lost $175 , and when asked to speak to management , it’s like they didn’t want me to, making up excuses about them coming the next morning, no way of contacting them by phone, etc. I think I’ll stay at another campsite next time. Not worth losing money over, the poor customer service left a bad taste.

This is a gorgeous campground right off of route 302 near the Wiley House Historical site. During the weekend in fall this place is a mad house with Harley’s and traffic going up and down 302 for the fall leaves. The Harley’s echo through the valley all night. However, on Sunday things quieted down and made for a peaceful nights sleep. I’d still avoid the sites that are right up against the highway. It’s a busy road. Bathrooms were clean. General store was somewhat decently stocked. Didn’t get a chance to walk the trails since I hiked elsewhere. Felt safe as a solo traveler since there was gated entry to the campground. Campsite was private and couldn’t see my neighbors. Chemical toilets are port-a-potty. Potable water available throughout the site.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Toilets and showers were clean. Campsites were large. We heard some coyotes which was nice. The staff were friendly and polite. I would recommend for somebody looking to stay to have easy access to the white mountains etc. We will.be back at some point.

The campground is really well-kept, and there are plenty of porta potties around that are clean and even have a pleasant smell! 🤯😅 However, the bathhouse has only three showers for both women and men, which isn’t nearly enough for over 100 sites in the campground. Don’t forget to bring quarters for your shower, too. While the management could be better, it's not a major issue. I'd suggest steering clear of the sites near the road; they can be pretty noisy because of the heavy traffic. Though it’s off-grid—meaning no internet or cell service at all—it’s located next to the beautiful Saco River and offers stunning mountain views. I didn’t quite feel as immersed in nature as I usually do, but it was still nice to unplug and unwind. I would definitely recommend it!

It’s a shame because we loved our site and there were many other great sites but here were some things that we didn’t like: Management wasn’t the friendliness at times, they close the gates for no re-entry 10pm-8am, the front camp sites are right along a busy road so you hear loud traffic a lot, camp wood was too pricey, and the biggest one, the bathrooms were horrible. Although cleaned, it was super humid due to horrible ventilation. The floors were always wet, I nearly slid around in my flip flops. They also take two hours to clean them, so there’s no other bathroom to use during that time which I think is too long. Lastly, I’d recommend going during the week, it was a lot more quiet and peaceful. One of our days was on the weekend and it was so busy and loud with neighbors and kids. Oh and you most likely will have to drive about 10 minutes for cell service fyi.

I've been here multiple times and every single time I enjoy it! The staff is friendly and will help you in any way you may need. All the sites are great, but I really love the water front ones. The sound of the flowing river at night is so relaxing! Bring the family, go with friends, or a couples get away(I've done all), this is the place to go!

We had a great stay here. They have a great store. The showers and restrooms are very well kept. The area is beautiful.

Just spent 4 night at Crawford notch campground in NH. We were on site 1 , no parking at the site itself but the walk to the area is not bad. Pretty much on the Saco River just have to walk a short distance. Best part about this site was could hear the river which made sleeping great when you could sleep . It Had amazing views from the actually river and at night looking out into the darkness you feel like you are under a blanket of stars as long as you were looking in the direction of the river. Worst part was it is near the cabins , the entrance and the bathhouse and you could hear the highway during the day and people swarming the bathhouse around 4pm. If you look at the map the site looks like it is more “wooded” then it is. All that separates you from cabin 10 is a few small trees. The bridge shown on the map is two pieces of wood that is not over any water but very sharp rocks. At night you can see all the lights from the cabins and anyone staying at cabin 10 as their fire pit area is close to site 1 and literally can see into cabin 10. During the day it was pretty quiet at night time it was a different story. Because of the closeness of site 10 and them wanting to have huge fires late and wanted to be very disruptive , sleeping that Friday was pretty much impossible. Kinda felt like we were at a hotel instead of sleeping in the woods. Other than obviously picking the wrong site thinking it was secluded in the woods it was a okay campground. The Staff was friendly, the camp store was a little over priced but what you would expect from a camp store. It was a nice trip and If we head back there we will try to find a more remote site directly on the river and away from the entrance of the campground. Site 1 is definitely not worth the extra money for a “riverside” view as the only view you do get is a bunch of lights and a great view of cabin 10.

Our family loves this place. We’ve been going for 20+ years. Not every year, because it is a 6 hour drive, but we’ll worth the trip. One of our top 2 favorite camping spots and we have tried quite a few over the years. Clean, well managed facilities, great/convenient onsite store, always friendly staff, and yet you can get amazing sites surrounded by trees/forest, many on the water. And if you’ve never been to the area, tons to do. Spectacular hiking trails, water falls, lost river gorge, and much more within short drive.

Huge place but very private sites are available. Most of them very primitive and a bit expensive given the comfort level, but otherwise it's a beautiful place.
