Creekside Campground

Overview

Creekside Campground offers a peaceful retreat tucked away in the heart of British Columbia's scenic Sunshine Coast. Situated along the banks of Wilson Creek, this park provides a natural forest canopy that makes for a quiet, shaded camping experience. Unlike large, paved commercial resorts, this destination maintains a rustic charm that encourages visitors to disconnect from the city and immerse themselves in the lush greenery and fresh air of the Pacific Northwest. It is an authentic coastal escape that prioritizes the natural environment.

Location & Surroundings

Conveniently located just a short drive from the ferry terminal in Gibsons, the park serves as a perfect starting point for exploring the central Sunshine Coast. The property is surrounded by towering evergreens and is defined by the soothing sound of the nearby stream. Guests are only minutes away from the stunning shoreline of Davis Bay, where the mountains meet the Salish Sea. This location offers a rare balance of secluded forest living while remaining close to the amenities of Sechelt.

Amenities & Park Features

The campground provides essential comforts for modern travelers, including full hookup sites that provide water, sewer, and 30-amp electricity. For those who prefer a more traditional experience, there are also shaded spots perfect for smaller rigs and camper vans. On-site facilities include laundry services and hot showers, which are a welcome convenience after a long day of outdoor exploration. Many sites also feature individual fire pits and picnic tables, making it easy to enjoy a classic campfire evening under the stars.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find an abundance of activities within a few miles of the park gates. You can spend an afternoon walking the Davis Bay seawall or browsing the local boutiques and galleries in downtown Sechelt. For those seeking adventure, the nearby Hidden Grove trails offer accessible hiking through ancient forests with spectacular viewpoints. The region is also a premier destination for kayaking, beachcombing, and salmon fishing, ensuring there is always something to discover near the water.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal choice for travelers seeking a tranquil basecamp rather than a high-intensity resort. It is best suited for couples and small families who appreciate a quiet evening and a smaller, more intimate setting. If your travel style involves nature-focused exploration and you prefer a wooded, creek-side environment over a standard parking lot layout, Creekside Campground offers the genuine, laid-back atmosphere that makes the Sunshine Coast so special for RVers.

After trying to call Creekside several times, and knowing that at this time of year people are securing their winter spots, with Sechelt being a popular winter destination, we decided to text, as that is what their phone greeting recommends. Our friends, who had stayed there before, gave us the owner’s personal number to help connect us. Our message was completely respectful, yet the owner called me “rude,” then continued texting us, and even called our friends to berate them all while their only intention was to bring Creekside business. This was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. We were genuinely interested in staying long-term, but after experiencing this behaviour, we are so thankful we are dodging the bullet.

This is a great campsite for beginners. My nephew (2yo) went camping for his first time and this site was perfect for him. PROS. Cheap sites. Safe and secure. 15 minutes from the langdale ferry terminal. Great for beginner campers. The beach is just down the road. Showers are $1 for 6 minutes. Bathrooms are clean. The grocery store (IGA) is literally right beside the campsite. CONS. Close to the highway.

Stayed here this past week and thought I’d give some insight and a review so people can make an informed decision. Campground was overall nice. The grounds were clean and well taken care of. Lots of tent sites have platforms and overall we liked our sites. They were clean and fit all that we had. My mom’s site (right next to ours) didn’t have a picnic table. Which was fine for us as we used the one on my spot but could be an issue for some so I’d definitely ask prior which ones do or don’t. We also noticed lots of things were “out of order.” In the bathroom 2 of the 4 woman’s stalks were out of order. 1 of the 2 showers were out of order. One of the sinks was out of order. The paper roll dispenser was out of order as well. Oh and there’s no pool. Online it still shows the pool as an amenity but just currently unavailable however they should get rid of that as the pool is beyond repair and taken back over by nature. Again it’s fine just transparency for people. That all being said the washroom was always clean. The shower ($1 for 6 minutes) was spacious and it had an adequate changing area. Overall nice campground the noise is definitely there but I guess I’m used to noise it didn’t bother me.

Such a beautiful spot! I’ve come through Sechelt a few times now over the past year, and this is my favourite campground here. The creek and gorgeous cedars offer a peaceful atmosphere, there is just enough sun and just enough shade to stay warm or cool, and it’s so close to the beautiful beaches & restaurants at Davis Bay. There is a bit of road noises, but I rarely noticed it — I’d hear the creek moreso, which I loved! Also, the bathrooms are clean and warm, and the shower is hot & has amazing pressure. Far better than the BC parks bathrooms — and most other campground bathrooms I’ve seen (and I’ve camped a lot!) The spots I’ve stayed in have all had a level space & easy parking for my van - and most tent sites have platforms too. The staff are kind, easy to deal with and very responsive. I highly recommend!!
