Exceptional views with the $8 per day, day pass. You can park for free and walk the exact same beach by heading to Salt Creek Recreation area. However, if you have a trailer or motor home, this spot is sensational! Very busy campground

We camped here. Incredible private beach that blends into the Salt Creek Rec area that has trails and rocky beach to explore. Standard for distance from neighbors and prices. We got a spot further down from the beach so it wasn’t as windy and we had the creek as our backdrop.

The positives: the hosts are nice and the beach is close. Unfortunately, there were more negatives. Even though the beach access is close, the walk to the beach is impossible without picking up loads of painful goathead thorns. Do not wear sandals or bring dogs! We stayed in a tiny tent site. There were so many mosquitoes at the campground and even at the beach, that we spent our entire days (from getting up to getting into bed) away from the site and beach. We couldn't hang out in our site at all without being swarmed. There's a big wetlands area behind the campground so they're out of control. I have hundreds of bites on my legs after staying 3 nights, despite wearing pants (hint: they WILL bite through leggings) AND using bug spray. We left early. The mosquitoes were bad at the sites all around the campground, not just ours. We had family staying in the RV area and 10 mosquitoes would fly in each time someone would open the trailer door, just to give you an idea. Aside from mosquitoes, things kept breaking. Yes, there are showers, but you must pay (in quarters only, $1 for 6 minutes) in addition to your base fee, and the machines would eat quarters, leaving you soapy and stranded. Yes, there are flushing toilets and running sinks, but they were clogged half the time, and one time the water was disconnected. Overall, I'd suggest skipping this one.

Awesome location. Cannot beat the view or beach access BUT 4 toilets for the whole campground and no shower around the tent area. Garbage dumpster overflowing the whole time we were there and no garbage cans through the campground. Definitely saving on manpower, but less convenient for campers :(

We stayed in RV spot 13 with friends who stayed in the Sandpiper cabin. The RV spots are VERY close together - but we expected this from looking at the map. Luckily we had great neighbors who were friendly because we looked directly into their site and visa versa. The location and proximity to the beach is awesome. The beach was lovely and the creek on the far end was so great for the kids! The goat heads in the field that separates you from the beach are terrible. We got destroyed by them and I saw so many people taking their poor dogs over there. The burn ban had just gone into effect before we got there and we did not bring our propane fire pit (stupidly). They did have 1 to rent for a highway robbery price of $18 per night and you had to use your own propane. Insane. The major issue that we had is that we couldn’t dump any of our tanks when leaving because their sewer system is not built for all the spots they have. It was backing up in other sites and we were told that we had to go dump at the state camp site up the road which is $10. I paid for a full hook up spot and couldn’t even use it. So frustrating. Unfortunately, we won’t be back.

We absolutely LOVE this place. Our hosts, Bud and Rose, and Aaron and Elizabeth were fantastic. I checked in with a broken leg and they stopped by to check on me and take my garbage. Sweetest people, amazing views, right on the beach. The sound of crashing waves as eagles soar above and hang out in the trees,,,spectacular. Laundry room and super clean bathrooms are a plus. No highway traffic. Just peaceful.

Went for a day at the beach so can’t comment on amenities. Beach is beautiful and surfers where having a good time. Not a lot of beach to walk but still fun to hang out at such a beautiful spot. There is a fee to walk the beach as it is private.

A scenic paradise with a friendly staff but a few minor annoyances. Septic hookup is Really far from tank, so you need three hoses to reach. Spots are not level, so it will take some trial and error to get set. Area is over run with surfers, so just be accepting of that. The access to trails, beauty of the beach and generally good natured surfer crowd make this a great place to stay
