Cripple Creek RV Park

Overview

Cripple Creek RV Park offers a peaceful high-altitude escape situated at nearly 9,500 feet in the scenic Colorado mountains. Unlike the bustling casino district just a short drive away, this park provides a quiet mountain atmosphere where travelers can enjoy crisp air and sweeping views of the surrounding peaks. It serves as an exceptionally comfortable home base for exploring the rich gold mining history and unique charm of the Teller County area throughout the camping season.

Location & Surroundings

The park is conveniently located just over a mile from the historic downtown district of Cripple Creek, providing a perfect blend of seclusion and accessibility. Surrounded by the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the property feels like a true wilderness retreat while remaining close to local shops. The drive to the park along Highway 67 offers breathtaking vistas of rugged peaks and ponderosa pine forests, making the journey as memorable as the destination itself for scenic mountain travelers.

Amenities & Park Features

Guests will find well-maintained facilities designed for a seamless stay. The park features full-hookup sites with 30 and 50-amp service, accommodating everything from camper vans to large motorhomes. Park features include:

  • Clean shower facilities and restrooms
  • On-site laundry rooms
  • Dependable Wi-Fi access
  • Level gravel sites with picnic tables

These features ensure that while you are deep in the mountains, you still have the modern conveniences necessary for a comfortable stay.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

History enthusiasts will appreciate being near the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine and the historic Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad, which offers a glimpse into the past. Downtown Cripple Creek is famous for its vibrant casinos, local dining, and seasonal events like the Donkey Derby Days. For outdoor enthusiasts, the nearby trails offer world-class hiking and wildlife photography opportunities, particularly during the autumn when the aspen trees turn vibrant gold across the mountainsides.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for RVers who prefer a tranquil camping experience over high-traffic commercial resorts. It is a fantastic choice for history buffs looking to immerse themselves in Colorado gold rush legacy or travelers wanting to escape the summer heat in the lower elevations. If you value spectacular mountain views and a localized, friendly vibe, this park provides the perfect balance of relaxation and exploration for solo travelers, couples, and adventurous families alike.

Worst american people we met, we just wanted to park on the side because we have a problem on our RV and wanted to check without disturbing anybody. After 2 minutes a rude man came without asking if there were a problem, telling us to go on the road. We never met someone so rude.

Fred the male counterpart of the duo of ownership per this establishment, was absolutely and utterly disrespectful and disgraceful in his speech and approach to a complete stranger whom happens to be a law-abiding citizen and ex Girl Scout who was visiting a resident of his RV establishments as a friend is there. And Mister and disgustingly approached me speaking as though he were an officer of the law asking me" who are you? " and this being from my respectfully using the restroom facilities leaving it better than I found it and not offending the space he approached me very volatile this establishment would do better without him present at the front desk as he is obviously and clearly not equipped with personal interpersonal skills. If only the business were registered under the Better Business Bureau I would claim to a zero star there as well. Patty you're better than this and I don't know you but I've heard good things you are a nice person and respect your tenants as best I have heard I appreciate your response in the matter if you'd like to contact me I called roughly around 9:00 a.m. February 17th with a 305 number your husband answered and you weren't present

Great location within walking distance to shops, restaurants and even the only dispensary in the county right across the street. Standard facilities but clean and comfortable. Will def stay again and recommend!
