Very nice staff, clean, quiet, nice trails with a lot of history.

The river right by is the highlight and most sites are well shades. Unfortunately, The inner ring is extremely cramped with sites butting up to one another. The sites in general are very close to the road. The bathroom/shower building is only two stalls. It is way to small and definitely dated. There is some nice sites on the outer ring especially those close to the river.

Very nice campground. Bathrooms were older but clean. No complaints about loud groups. Everyone respected each others space. Right on the Paul bunion trail for some serious bike or run miles up to town.

This was a very nice campground. Our stay in slot 2E was nice in that we didn't see much of our neighbors. It was quiet, wooded, and very enjoyable. The access to the park's trails and the river was easy. The only complaint we had, and this is our fault, was that we chose a site across from the two biffies. When the wind comes from that direction, the odor is annoying. Othewise, great campground and our visit was super-enjoyable! :) I'd recommend this campground to anyone as a spot for great camping.

Our campsite (#30) was really big and nice. Perfect for a weekend tent camp! However, with Fort Ripley nearby, it nearly sounded like a warzone. All day we kept hearing boom boom boom and gunshots instead of peaceful nature. I do support our troops, but constantly hearing those sounds made the weekend not as enjoyable. Otherwise, hiking trail was very short and fun. Lots of mosquitoes though, but we wore a lot of bug spray. I recommend doing the same! Great view of the Mississippi River as well.
