THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY… We stayed in the Cypress campground, so the following remarks are exclusively about Cypress. Overall, I rate this state park very good. So first the GOOD…the bathrooms were very clean during our stay and the entire park is very quiet and serene. It is thickly forested so if you’re not into tree hugging, this is not the campground for you. We have solar panels on our RV roof and trees make me nervous! Also GOOD, the dump station was conveniently located on the way out. Water views are very limited to camping spots 35, 34, 31, 41 and 43! Please note that spot 35 can get obstructed if a really long camper parks in spot 34. You will only get a partial view of the water in 35 if 34 obstructs you, All the spots seemed to be pretty level, although highly graveled! THE BAD AND THE UGLY… summer camping will be brutal due to the nats!!! BRUTAL! We were able to survive by having a large fan blowing on high speed continuously on us. The inside of the camper easily filled with nats even though we were extremely careful to limit opening it. Also BRUTAL…it was caterpillar season in September and they literally kept dropping on our clothing! It made me think of an Alfred Hitchcock movie!

Great camping area. Convient location for playing golf and plenty of places to eat. The ride to Summerville is about 40 min. Via I- 95 to I-26 to Charleston SC

Wonderful staff, beautiful selection, no pressure staff, understands the financial commitment an RV is and is willing to wait for when you are ready. Biggest dealer in region if not all of Fl... Maybe more??? Huge stock, huge breaks on prices. Didn't buy, still in the research phases but out of all the places I've looked this was the largest, friendliest and available place to date.

Overlooking the lake, easy accessible trails from your campsite down to the lake. 4 walking trails. This place was absolutely stunning. It has everything you need for hookups, tent, campers, trailers, or RV’s Camp store has a walkout pier and glass indoor viewing area. You can rent kayaks or bring your own. Fellow campers were friendly. Well stocked little store at reasonable prices. There is an Educational Interpreting Center at the Ranger Station/checkin. Customer service was fantastic.
