I have been coming here for over 26 years. I used to live closer then moved to NC but still drive here and I loved it. This however will be my last trip here I've never been so disappointed. You can't fish anymore from the bank anywhere the lake is horrible looking and so full of sludge old wood etc. wish I had saved my money and gone elsewhere. Campground still beautiful and well maintained the lake and bank all way around heartbreaking

As always Davis lake/campground is our home away from home Ms. Angie the camp host is the best very caring and busy keeping everything clean and a hoot to be around hope they keep her for a long time fishing was never a disappointment we got 17 good cat fish weighed in from 10lbs to 5lbs was the smallest ones All from the bank love me some Davis lake can't wait to go back thank you Angie for all you do

The physical layout in placement of campsites is a five-star. We gave it a three-star because of site availability / reservation confusion. Recreation.com indicates everything is first come first serve. When you get to the campground you find out otherwise. There are little red and white reserved placards on many of the sites. A sign on the entry board says see a camp host if you want any of the reserved sites. She told us it was crazy and confusing, and apologized. We tried to utilize their scan and pay, but it was only for day use. Recreation.gov, take a note, put one on the board for overnight use as well!  When we tried to pay by check, there was nothing on any of the signs that said who to make the check out to. We ended up calling the ranger station to get that information. Great campground, but we needed a cocktail to calm our nerves and couldn't have one because alcohol and drugs are not allowed here!

Great Swimming 🥽 👙 Spot for those who don't having Personal Swimming pool. Plenty of room for multiple parties to enjoy at the same time without running into each other.

Such wonderful experiences we had in Davis Lake Campground. Since the reservation until our staying, everything was perfect. The spot of our 25 feet RV was in front of the lake. I swam in it as I use to, in a warm and comfortable water. Birdwatching was possible with different species of birds. They singing so beautifully. The manager was friendly. There are 2 areas: One to day use area and people stay there until sunset. Other, to specific to RVs and tent campers. There wasn't full hook-up. There were electricity and water in the spot. There is a dump station to everybody, not so far from the RVs area. So, everything worked good for us. Thank you and I recommend it. We are from Brazil. It's our first time exploring Natchez Trace Parkway road. And loving do it.

Quiet, clean and peaceful area. Just an afternoon drive but was very nice. I only saw one small fish caught.
