This review comes from the perspective of retired full-time RV’ers with no young kids so take that into account when it comes to some of the criticisms. The park is wooded and beautiful with the autumn colors. It is not incredibly big rig friendly with narrow roads, tight corners and shorter sites. While you can get bigger rigs in there it’s ideal for

Traveling through and booked using KOA app. Everything seemed fine and less than two hours out I receive a call telling me that I didn’t enter the correct info and they don’t have anything for us. I understand mistakes and there’s a possibility this was mine. But it’s 3:12pm and I booked at 6:30pm the evening prior. Everything went through and my payment was charged to the card. It’s fine we will find another place. Then she tells me that she will refund my deposit. I said “I would expect that.” And that’s what rubbed her wrong. A simple statement. She says she’s doing me a favor. She claims that I am past the cancellation period and she doesn’t have to do this. I’m like “I’m not canceling” A prime example of a person in the customer service business that shouldn’t be in customer service. We stay at KOAs all over and usually they’re great and I highly recommend and have written several 5 star reviews. But this lady……was out of line. Had zero empathy for our situation and clearly can’t handle a customer being honest and talking openly about the situation.

I have been camping here for 30+ years, only come every 3-4 years. The campground has changed hands since my last stay, and it reflects the corporate ownership as compared to the personal owner prior. It's a shame, but it's a five star facility that will only get a three from me. We rented a water and electric site for 9 days and a cabin for two. When we set up, I drew some water from the site faucet to make dinner, it was brown, see picture attached after it sat overnight. Poor welcome when you are planning to stay 9 days and now have to buy water for everything you do. I wouldn't even wash with what came out of the faucet. We loved coming here because of all the kid activities, we were entertaining two of our 8 grandchildren and there were no activities. There used to be movies, face painting, hay rides, auctions, bingo, train rides every day. Now everything happens on the weekends and you are left high and dry during the week. They remodeled the upper bathroom and put in "Water Saver" toilets that plug if you put in more than two squares of paper, then they don't check them until the next day so you are left with a disgusting plugged toilet till the next day. The toilet in the lower bath will swallow you whole if you stand close. We used that when the upper was plugged. Hot water on demand system in the showers means you only have hot water half the time. Staff was great and facility as a whole is five star, it's the lack of personal involvement and details that take it down from a five to a three star for me. Prior owner would be ashamed. Had a great time in a cabin this weekend. Very nice and clean, everything you need. New mini-split air conditioning made it very comfortable at night to sleep. Wonderful place for kids to play, swim, learn. Our kids favorite was swimming of course, but they also loved all the games and activities. Will definitely return in the future.

First time camping here & overall we had a great experience. The whole campground is beautiful, very well kept, lots of trees & shaded spots. We stayed in an electric site only (on the map it’s the yellow areas) we had site #302 which was nice & had a lot of yard area for our kids to play, the other sites in the yellow area are very close together w/ no yard. And these sites also back up to the freeway so if you don’t want to hear that.. I wouldn’t book a site right there. But the electric only spots are right next to the pool & cafe which was nice! The pool was amazing, not overally cold, lots of seating. The creek was fun & the kids loved playing in it. The pedal bikes were a big hit for my kids + the train ride. The store has things you need if you forgot something. The cafe was cute, very good ice-cream, pizza and loaded nachos! However, I hope in the future they offer more food options b/c there wasn’t a lot. The pond is beautiful, the swan boats are cool to do.. but we fished for three days and only caught two baby bluegill.. we feel like the pond should be stocked more :) Staff was all very friendly & helpful.

This is a safe place to bring your kids and go on vacation. I love to camp at Koa they have all the accommodations you need. Sheets, showers, cabins and of course camp sights. I like to pull in to recharge my batteries and meet the staff. The Dayton Koa has a lovely woman named Katie who helped me out in a pinch. She even made me an official buckeye today.. it was a lovely gift. Thanks a bunch.

I wanted to book a weekend but once I selected the days and amenities I was floored by the price. We have stayed at this located several times in the past but the price was not nearly this high. Average over $115 per night is insane. That doesn't include meals, alcohol, or firewood. The sites are on top of each other to say the least so why in the world could they get this kind of money? Supply and demand I guess, but much cozier campgrounds around offer more for less.

We had a blast. Campsites were clean. Lots to do. Halloween celebration was so much fun. Employees were really nice. The only things I did not care for is highway noise and the fact check out is at 11 am. That is a little to early. Most we have stayed at check out is 2 pm enough time to eat and pack.
