Our second stay here, and we’re still not ready to leave! Kathy and Ted are such gracious, helpful, and accommodating hosts. The campground is beautiful—well-kept, peaceful, and truly comfortable. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

This was our second visit to Deer Trail Campground, and it won’t be our last—we absolutely love this place. To us, this is the true definition of a campground: peaceful, scenic, and welcoming. The facilities are clean and well maintained, which makes the stay so much more enjoyable. Everything about the setup here feels geared toward families and people who genuinely enjoy the outdoors. The amenities are thoughtful without being over the top, keeping the focus on camping rather than glamping. Nestled in a beautiful valley, the setting is picture-perfect. You’re surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains and trees, which makes it feel tucked away and private, even though you’re just a short drive into Wytheville. The atmosphere is cool and calm—exactly what we needed as an escape from the hot, humid South Carolina weather. Nights here are quiet, mornings are crisp, and the overall vibe is pure relaxation. If you’re looking for a clean, family-friendly, and authentic campground experience, Deer Trail is it. Highly recommend to anyone passing through or looking for a getaway in the mountains.

We were able to setup our 2 easy ups and our outdoor kitchen the dogs were able to have there fence out very quiet very clean the owners are very accommodating. Will be back. And the leaves are changing this time of year. The tranquility is so awesome. And we were only about 10 miles from town

This is a very nice, family-oriented campground. We stayed for a month in May of 2025. We have a 30' travel trailer and had a perfect spot near the babbling brook that runs through the middle of the campground. We had the brook on one side and a view of the trout pond out the front of our trailer. Lovely! There's a pool, three themed playgrounds and from what I saw, kids have a great time! There's an arcade, shower house, laundry, mail room for long-termers, a stocked catch & release pond, various cabins, tent sites, and the most well-stocked campground store I've ever seen! There are even fresh eggs from the owner's hens that roam the campground. Signage guiding you to the campground from all roads is clear and ample. The only downside is the well water. It has quite a bit of iron. We double-filtered our drinking water and it was fine. We washed clothes in town which was OK too. The Food City is close to the laundromat in Wytheville so it was easy to shop and do laundry at the same time. Wytheville is a lovely town with lots to do when you want to get away from the campground and see the sights.

This is a great RV park. There are three great playgrounds for the kids with really nice equipment. The pool is very nice as is the arcade. The owner is super nice and helpful. There is a pond you can fish in and a nice stream running thru the park. There are plenty of trees and shade and lots of options for spaces. I highly recommend this park if you're in the area.
