I visited this park on Saturday May 3rd and wanted to just purchase a day pass. The person working the gate told me that the beach was closed. I stated I wasnt going to visit the beach, that I wanted to hike/walk on the trails. She told me that I couldn't because the day use area was closed. When I asked "Why?" She just told me that it was.

We spent 4 night here in our fifth wheel in site 17 overlooking the lake. Upper loops are more suited for bigger rigs as they have a cul de sac turn around that the lower sites do not have. Stayed during a weather event & the camp hosts were very helpful in finding a local storm shelter. Campground itself is 20 minutes out of town on some curvy up & down roads.

Campground is on the outskirts of Tuscaloosa. Very quiet and nice big camp sites. The campground is clean. Hosts are friendly and accommated us returning late (after 10pm)because of our granddaughters' graduation. We have been there a couple of times. Bathrooms/ shower facilities are always clean. Washer and dryers are only for staff. This time, the bathrooms were extremely hot. No windows were open, and they had signs posted to keep doors closed.

I almost want to give this place a bad review. That way it will never be busy. It is amazing! This is probably one of my favorite state parks. The sites are set up so that you feel alone and not cramped next to other travel trailers. The hosts are amazing. If you want a place to unwind and reconnect with nature, this is the place.

Tent camping: Fantastic campground if you like to feel secluded. It was so nice to be far away from others. The campground was so very clean. They blow them off and prep them for your arrival. The water access and power it was available to every site was awesome. My only complaint would be that the bathrooms were a little far away. A lot of wildlife visited us all night. (We did see a rattlesnake, but it was far from the camping area. It was about 5 feet long. It had 6 buttons on its rattle.) We will be going there again.

This is a very nice campground. The staff is so friendly. We stayed in a water view site and it was very spacious with great shade and a view. Verizon cell service picked up well. We also travel with a at &t hot spot and it had good reception. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return again.

This place is wonderful!! It is very well taken care of an clean. We loved being right beside this walking trail that took us to a small fishing deck. It was very peaceful and relaxing!! We will definitely be back when we can spend more time!!

Very clean, absolute beauty all around you. While running from hurricane Ida Deerlick took very good care of us.Some sites are way better than others. I recommend site 18 if not that go for a back down.

A great week of relaxing. The weather was perfect, Watching the barges as they traveled the river, waking up to the sound of birds singing and the fish jumping. The swim area was great for our grandson. The trails are great for an afternoon walk. Bathroom was very clean. A+ IN MY BOOK.

Beautiful campground. Site was clean when we arrived. Staff is pleasant and accommodating. My only problem was repeated campers going the wrong way on loops marked one way. People seem to think the rules do not apply to them. Campers with 4 vehicles parked at their site. Clearly there are overflow lots for additional cars. There is great fishing, hiking trails for different fitness levels and boating. A small beach and bathhouse was always clean. We will be back soon.
