P-Burg Bay is a great FS campground. There are quite a few trees which adds to the level of privacy. The lake is right there, and you can see it from some sites. The FCFS site list is not accurate on recration.gov - there are quite a few sites that are not reservable, so you can likely get one depending on the day and time of your arrival. The lake isn't great for fishing or swimming from shore, but people seem to have good luck trolling.

This site is being miss-managed. There will not be native vegetation in a couple of years if the driving of ATVs continues off the roads. (Even the campground hosts are doing this)

Beautiful and clean campground. Quiet and the fishing was great.

Fantastic location and the $17 camp fee is very reasonable. Provides boat access to the entire lake with a nice boat launch. Very quiet and nice views by the waterfront. All sites are large with decent privacy, given that the forest is pretty open. About a third of the sites are first come, first served, which is great if you don't have a reservation. Nice feature is that you can pay by app if you happen to not bring cash, like we didn't, although try to remember some for firewood, since the campfire makes the evening!

Beautiful, well shaded campground! We saw 2 moose and a deer in the water while fishing. Clean restrooms and happy with the site also. Will be back!

Great location. There's lots of trees, you are close to the water and it's clean. We saw a moose in camp. There's not great beach access for fishing within walking distance but there is some a short drive away. It would be great for any kind of boating/ water activities.

Each campsite has it's own parking, picnic table, fire pit and tent pad. There are 3 loops A B and C. If you don't have an access pass the camping costs $15.00 a day with the pass half price. There is also bathrooms trash cans which are 🐻 proof. Yes I said bears. So far no sign of any. A water spicket is also on the grounds as well. The water is pretty good. There is also a boat launch on site. So if you don't mind the few wild critters you do see this is the place to camp. It is between Anaconda and Phillipsburg off of highway 1.

I called the Forest Service before going the weekend before Memorial Day - they said they had just opened the campground. When we got there, it was empty, quiet, and peaceful. A lot of nice looking sites waiting for the crowd to come. For our weekend there, I saw 3 other campers in the entire place. Caught 2 nice rainbows of the end of the boat put-in and enjoyed watching the Bald Eagles. They perched in the trees just a few hundred feet from our campsite. The Forest Service guy, Tim, was extremely helpful and wanted to make sure we were having a 5-Star experience there. He gave us a few good tips about the area. Tim seems to love his job so much - they should give him a Badge to wear. Highly recommend. At least when there aren't any other campers around!!
