BEAUTY ONLY THE CREATOR CAN MAKE. BREATHTAKING, THE TREES, WILDLIFE, WE SAW HUGE BEAUTIFUL YELLOW BANANA SLUGS...MY GRANDCHILDREN WERE CAPTIVATED. WE HAD OUR TRAIL MIX STOLEN BY A WELL CHOREOGRAPHED CHIPMUNK GANG. THE DEER WERE AWARE OF US, BUT WERE NOT SCARED. TRULY A VISIT TO CHERISH.

It is in great location and it was the only park with availability on short notice. The bathrooms are nice and showers were good. The sites are many and right next to each other. Don't let the thumbnail photos when you are booking fool you. Generally there is thin strip of ferns and bushes separating you from multiple other sites. We were at tent site 138 and judging by the thumb nail it looked secluded. We were surrounded by three sites. You will hear your neighbors if/when they aren't considerate. Everyone likes to stay up late and make plenty of noise when it is full. People making noise and talking loud until 3 AM on night. Same people yelling obscenities at their neighbors the next morning. Doubt the frail elderly camp host had much of an impact on that after it was brought to their attention. As well there is a loud tower signal tone that starts early in the AM. Can be heard easily at camp. So, don't plan on sleeping in. I have camped all over the US we were on a cross country roadtrip when we booked and stayed there. This was easily the most annoying experience during the whole trip.

Beautiful campsites amongst coastal redwood groves. Local trails are unmaintaned, so go to Jedadiah Smith State Park for superior hiking. One purchase gets you into 5 local National & State Parks.

Hidden, rustic, tranquil, spectacular. Open May through September. Reservations strongly recommended. Your smartphone will only function for photos. Come prepared as there are no hookups. Water stations are spaced between campsites. Only overnight campers are allowed in, no day use visitors. Trailers are limited to 24 feet, and motorhomes to 28 feet. An ocean beach and full service town are just 6 miles away. Shangri-la awaits you.
