The new management has really taken things up a notch or two. I’m a seasonal/year round visiting camper. I have been noticing a lot of great improvements lately - the campground organizes a whole array of activities and events for both kids and adults - on seasonal weekends and on all major holidays. Since the new management came in, the laundry room was modernized and fully automated. No more carrying quarters around and waiting, and you get a text when your clothes are done washed or dried. The pool, bathhouse and other facilities are also in improved condition. The CG is a peaceful retreat at the edge of the Poconos, away from all the noise of the cities and towns, but still only about an hour away from NYC and less than 15 minutes away from some fairly large towns with restaurants, big box stores, malls and everything else if you need it. The campground does have a beach area that can be used for fishing, and a large boat launch that can accommodate some of the biggest watercraft and boats. This CG is popular, and it does get busy on some holiday weekends. But overall it is the best campground I’ve personally camped in so far.

I’ve been coming to Delaware River Family Campground multiple times a year since I was a kid. Now in my 30s, I’ve never once had a bad experience here , this place has always been one of my favorite local getaways to relax, fish, and disconnect. I’ve brought family, friends, and even recommended this campground to countless people over the years because I’ve always had great experiences. That said, my most recent visit left me genuinely disappointed for the first time ever. My friends and I booked a simple overnight stay to fish and decompress. When we arrived, we were greeted by a young gentleman at the front who was warm, professional, and welcoming exactly the kind of first impression every guest should have. He checked us in quickly and politely opened the gate for us to enter. As we pulled through, we didn’t realize there was a “no piggybacking” sign posted (something I’ll gladly own if it was our mistake), but regardless, we were fully paid guests. A moment later, a woman named Felicia, who claimed to be the manager, came running over yelling at the top of her lungs for us to stop even though we were moving about five miles an hour. She proceeded to berate us aggressively for piggybacking through the gate, completely losing her composure. When I calmly asked if she worked there (since she had no visible name tag or uniform), she exploded and started yelling even louder, threatening to kick us out without a refund, and repeating it several times. Her tone, body language, and overall attitude were shockingly unprofessional and hostile. As a local business owner myself, I understand the importance of customer relations, composure, and communication. If one of my employees ever handled a situation the way she did, I’d have an immediate conversation about respect and professionalism or they wouldn’t represent my business anymore. I say this not out of anger, but concern: this woman is not a good face for your campground. I’ve since read other reviews mentioning similar experiences with her, so I hope management takes this seriously. No paying guest should ever be screamed at or humiliated at check-in ..especially at a place that’s supposed to represent peace, family, and community. Despite this experience, I don’t want to let one person ruin decades of good memories. I truly love this campground, and I hope next time I visit, I can have the same positive experience I’ve always had here hopefully without the hostility or unnecessary confrontation. Edit/update within the hour of this review: Since posting my review earlier today, Felicia (the woman claiming to be the manager) has called me six times within about 20–30 minutes, and even texted me to say that because I wrote the review, she’s now blocking me from the park. This right here proves exactly what I described in my original review — that she cannot maintain her composure or conduct herself professionally as someone representing this campground. It’s completely unacceptable for a manager to respond to constructive criticism by harassing and banning a paying customer who has been coming here multiple times a year since childhood. I’ve always loved this place and never had a single issue until now. But after this experience, I will never return again, and I’ll make sure to share my experience with everyone I know. It’s sad to see a family-friendly campground I’ve supported for decades being represented like

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. Great place for a huge crowd. Bathroom were clean and overall the entire area was clean. Workers kept checking up on areas to see how everything and everyone was. Pool was clean with a good size. I felt very safe. We did have a little issue with other drunk campers that were trying to intrude and walk into our area late night after we all went to sleep. But the Manager Felicia handled that situation very well and professionally. Felicia was amazing!! She was very accommodating and understanding with each and every person in our 50 person group. I have to say, everything was convenient. If u forget something they sell things there. And this location is close to a small gas station with a small store. Staff were all great. There was one girl whom was absolutely amazing with us. The skinny tall girl. (I forgot her name) she did say has a son. She's the best. Overall our experience here was great love the people here.

My family and I have been traveling here for the last 3 years. This camping season we have decided to become seasonal after leaving our last seasonal campground of 2 years. In the past 3 years we have come across 3 different managers while staying at Delaware River. Felicia is by far the best manager this facility has had to date! She has truly put in so much effort to turn this campground around. Not only has she brought new and exciting attractions to the campground but she has done a great job fixing and maintaining prior ones that haven't been in use for years. Not only do her efforts speak volumes but so do her husbands! He works an intense full time job regularly and yet he is always working at the campground on top of that. We have come to know most of the staff extremely well in our time being there and they are all so wonderful. The ones I have spoken to have voiced just how wonderful their jobs have become with Felicia as their boss. The entire staff, Felicia and her husband really are a fantastic team who together are making Delaware River Campground a wonderful place!

What can I say about this campground? Unfortunately, we experienced numerous issues during our stay. To begin with, we were initially assigned a site that had a large hole in the ground—an extremely dangerous situation, especially considering we have children. While the staff did relocate us without any trouble, it was concerning that such a site would even be offered. We then faced several other problems, including power outages and lack of water. On top of that, we had a very unpleasant encounter with a woman—who seemed to be in charge—who was extremely rude and disrespectful. She insisted that my son wear a helmet, despite the fact that dozens of other children were riding without helmets. While I understand that wearing helmets is the law, I simply questioned why she was only targeting us and not enforcing the rule equally. Her reaction was completely unprofessional—she shouted irrationally and treated us as if we didn’t belong there. The restrooms were another serious concern. They were filthy, with broken showers and no evidence of maintenance or proper cleaning. Tent sites were mixed with RV sites, creating a chaotic and disorganized atmosphere. Loud music of every genre and language was played late into the night with no regulation, making it difficult to rest. The entire campground felt unsafe and poorly managed. Given the large size of the area, there should absolutely be some form of security—especially near the river. But there was none. The staff seemed overwhelmed and clearly not equipped to handle the high volume of guests during the holiday weekend. As for the holiday activities, there was almost nothing offered. A simple golf cart parade was the only event to “celebrate” Independence Day—quite underwhelming. The only entertainment was a man playing music from the 1980s, clearly targeting the permanent residents of the campground. To make matters worse, I noticed numerous portable toilets placed near tent sites—alarmingly close to water sources used for drinking and cooking. This is unacceptable. The water itself smelled terrible, both for bathing and for use with our RV equipment. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with this campground and do not plan to return. I would not recommend it to anyone. They have many serious issues to address. I’ve known this campground for nearly four years, and I have seen absolutely no improvements or reinvestments in the infrastructure. Everything remains the same, as if the only priority is to generate income without caring about the quality of the guest experience. It’s truly disappointing, and I honestly do not understand how they still operate three locations and continue to attract visitors.
