7/3/24. Beautiful campground in Denali NP. We were lucky to get in since we didn't have advanced reservations. We're in a 38' class A , several larger spots to pick from. We had to leave our toad in Riley Creek overflow parking. Camp hosts were awesome! They had to cancel our bus tour due to the Riley 🔥 fire. I'm glad they got it under control quickly.

Excellent 3 day adventure here that I wish had been at least a week! So much to explore and see from here and the quiet is amazing. Grizzly was wandering around the campground although we never saw him. Campground host was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this for a total disconnect from the day to day.

Stayed here for 8 days at the end of August 2021. It rained every day and snowed one of them. The grounds themselves were very well kept, trash and bathrooms were cleaned every day. Saw park rangers driving by quite a bit as well. I can’t definitely say you can or can not see Denali peak from the campground as it was cloudy the whole time. Ironically though, the drive in and out was beautiful and well worth driving a snails pace and pulling off on every designated space for pictures. Have a solar setup if your bringing an rv. They have designated generator hours and we used every bit of it and our heater still sapped our batteries over night. The day we left the closed the campground for a week to try and get a bear away from the grounds. Careful if you bring pets. Your not allowed to bring pets on hiking trails, or leave them alone in the camp site either, so be aware of that as well.

Good place to stop and stretch you legs. Plenty of bathrooms. Was not allowed to walk to the river due to bear activity. But the views of the glacial river is incredible.

Booked the site because you got to go past the famed "mile 15". It has 52 rv sites, which you just put a tent in if you don't have an RV. Cool. What i didn't realized is that you are basically a prisoner. Can't use your own vehicle on the roads not even to go back to visitor center or else you wouldn't be allowed to go back to camp to get your stuff (I did know about this stipulation and was okay becausewe had the bus). $60 bus ticket is mandatory if you want to leave the campsite and go from mile 29.1 (tek) to mile 66 (eileson) unless your healthy enough to hike/walk that far. Oh, don't even think about taking that same bus from mile 29.1 to mile 0 since you would need to buy another bus ticket to get back to camp. Mile 0-15 contains more ada friendly hikes, the dog kennels, etc. Why? Great question...and not one that was given an answer by our very hostile and condescending host "Ed", who ended up telling us "maybe this isn't the campground for you". We left a day early because we had older, less mobile campers and wanted to do stuff other that hike/bike. The bus and host are part of the Doyson corporation and really do a terrible job with this national park.

This campground is highly overrated. We reserved this area due to the excellent reviews but when we got there we were surprised! The spaces are tight and very close together. There wasn't much to see, no view at all. Area was really dirty. Camp host was aloof and not helpful. People were drinking and standing in the road.

Going back this June for third time at Tek. Two earlier times in a tent. The camp has toilets and water. Also ranger program. Near a River good for walks. Bus stops at camp entrance. Your vehicle must stay for your camp time.

This is an incredible Campground with excellent amenities and beautiful views. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained and the trash is bear proof and conveniently located to most of the camp sites. The campground also features a good locker you can use if you don't have a bear proof container or don't want to risk keeping your food nearby. Each site is private with trees in between - a nice touch which isn't the case at many RV and tent campgrounds! This place is absolutely worth the wait and the drive!

A must stay place in Denali. At mile 29 of the Parks Rd. it is a slice of heaven in the wilderness with the comforts of home in an RV. Generator hours are limited but we felt bad turning ours on because it was so quiet and peaceful. Behind the campground is a river bed and glacial run off area. Within 10 minutes of arriving we were ready to explore. We headed out to photograph the beautiful vistas and were treated to the most unbelievable experience. My son is a photographer and he had my daughter off in the distance for a picture. All of a sudden she turned around and was walking very quickly back to us. She said something was coming in the distance. When we looked up it was a Caribou running frantically down the edge of the river. Three of us started to run back to the campground but my photographer son who was crouched by the river was just clicking away. Even with prompting from his brother he wasn't moving. The Caribou was still a ways away and after all of our noise he suddenly cut left and ran across the river and kept going down the other side of it. He was by himself but looked like he had been running for awhile. When I looked back up the river I saw a black wolf who had been chasing the Caribou! We learned later about a mile up the river there was a wolf den and this was the alpha male who was very rare to see. We felt so fortunate that within the first 30 minutes of arriving at Teklanika we had had the most amazing wildlife sighting it was almost a mic drop moment. There are some hills around with trails and we were able to hike up them and get an amazing vantage point on the area. About 3 miles up the Park road is a bridge and close to the location of the wolf den. We walked and then hopped on a bus to bring us the rest of the way there. Great for pictures and not a wolf in sight. We started to walk back and then hopped on a bus again for the final miles. On our last day we again went out to the river and saw another caribou running. There are also amazing sunsets (of sorts) with the glowing peaks in the setting sun.
