Great views and nice campgrounds. We rented a lake side campsite. Only issue we had was other campers kept walking through our campsite and setting up on the beach that we rented. It was very rude of them. We rented fishing boats while there. Boats were nice and clean. Downside was they have to be returned by 5pm. Every other lake we have rented at was 8pm.

Don’t bother with the cabins or store. The people aren’t exactly friendly and the rooms were LOOOADED with bugs. The lake, itself, is wonderful & there is free camping all around. Definitely recommend the free camps. The views are to die for!

Beautiful campground right on the lake. Spaces aren't too close to each other and are a good size with table and fire pit. Only two pit toilets for our loop (orange) but there was never a line. No potable water in the campground, which was the only down side, but there were a lot of vacant sites on the weekend in the middle of July. Nice central campground near a lot of other lakes in the area. The Crane Prairie RV Park (which is separate from the campground) has hookups, showers, and a little store.

Crane Prairie Reservoir is awesome. It’s definitely not worth going to the resorts or the campgrounds. There’s a lot of off grid camping that you can do still as well worth going out there and finding a clean spot. We always come out and clean up the area when we’re out and enjoyed this lake more and more over the years !

This is our second time camping at Crane Prairie Campground. Last year the mosquitos weren’t too bad. This year they seemed 10x worse. The camp hosts this year almost ruined our experience. They were extremely rude and unfriendly. They were more worried about ticketing extra cars than they were restocking the toilet paper in the bathrooms. This campground needs new camp hosts who have their priorities in the right spot!

Hard to beat the location great views of the lake short walk from campsites. Big campground. I’d say medium Rig friendly we got our 30 foot into a site with parking for our tow vehicle too. Bring bug spray that is an obvious your in the wilderness. No wood fires right now only propane. We did not fish but looks great for that if you have a small boat the do have a ramp. Host was very nice and accommodating. Was shocked how not full it was for a Friday night. Stayed two nights.

Nice campsites, beautiful lake, more mosquitoes than you want to deal with. Forest service is doing a horrible job with 100 % reservations. People don't show but you can't stay there. Most days 1/3 the sites were empty. Those sites in pictures were at least 2 days into the reservation, had reservations that never showed. Just a few of many

The forest service campground is very nice. The campground Hosts were wonderful. The sites are a bit crowded near the Reservoir frontage, but spacious away from the water. Plus its quieter. The Crane Prairie Store was still requiring people to wear masks even after the Oregon Governor opened up everything. We did not shop there because of their restriction. We purchased all our ice, food, fuel from South Twin which is only a short distance away. They did NOT require masks!!!
