This destination offers a welcoming atmosphere for those looking to settle in for a while or simply catch a restful break along their journey. Guests appreciate the well-maintained grounds and the peaceful environment, which makes it a reliable choice for road-weary travelers seeking a clean, organized space to park their vehicles while exploring the surrounding arid landscapes.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Needles, California, the resort sits right along the iconic Colorado River. Its strategic location provides travelers with easy access to major travel routes while maintaining a sense of secluded desert tranquility. The proximity to the riverfront adds a scenic quality to the stay, allowing visitors to enjoy the unique transition between harsh desert vistas and the refreshing waters of the river, which defines much of the local Needles geography.

The resort is designed to cater to modern RV needs by providing full hookup sites that accommodate a variety of rig sizes. The facility includes practical touches like on-site laundry and communal spaces that foster a quiet, neighborly vibe. Many guests enjoy the convenience of the on-site swimming pool, which provides a necessary respite from the intense desert heat during the warmer months, ensuring a comfortable experience regardless of the weather.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Needles serves as a gateway to both adventure and history. Visitors often spend time exploring the natural beauty of the nearby Mojave National Preserve, where rugged terrain and desert wildlife create endless opportunities for photographers and hikers. Water enthusiasts find ample enjoyment in boating or fishing on the Colorado River, while history buffs can investigate remnants of the famous Route 66 that winds through the heart of this historic river town.

This RV resort was wonderful! The pool was delightful and provided a much needed respite for our family from the long drive and hot day. The bathrooms and showers were super clean. The grounds were beautifully maintained and the host was very kind and accommodating. It's nestled in between two other RV resorts, but it's the clear winner of the three! I highly recommend choosing it if you're passing through this area.

We reserved a pull thru space last minute online. Was able to secure a military discount easily. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly, asked about where we were traveling from. Gave us great pointers of how to drive into our spot and setup to get our slides out without hitting the oleander shrubs that sit about 6-8 ft high between each site. These definitely help with heat control around your RV and they are beautiful to look at. In the evening we took a swim in the pool. It was 104 out but the pool was just right. A little debris in it from the wind blowing palm tree seeds, but you can’t help that and we easily enjoyed the pool regardless. Showers were immaculate and probably the best we have seen in all the RV parks we,3 stayed at over the years. The landscape is gorgeous for an RV park in the middle of the desert. We had our morning coffee in front of the clubhouse, which has shaded tables and chairs and inside houses a book nook, boxes of games, more tables and chairs, a pool table, television, and a kitchen that is meant for group events. The highway is close by, but we didn’t hear anything overnight with our RV ac running. Definitely starred this place if we ever return this way in our ventures.

We pulled into Desert View for a quick overnight during some traveling. The campground itself is quite lovely, with rv sites separated by beautiful pink blooming oleandor hedges which I will note here, are highly toxic for dogs and can cause human skin irritation from the sap, so beware! The oleador provides for a great privacy screen however. Also there are lovely mature palm trees. There is a small pool and two bathrooms right off the pool. The owner has done makeovers in those bathrooms and it is obvious he worked hard to make them pleasing esthetically. However, the shower head is at the very top of an approximately 8 foot ceiling pointing straight down and is probably set on water saving as the spray is needle point. This makes it difficult to rinse off completely, and basically impossible to take a shower without getting your hair wet if you are not planning on washing your hair as well. There is no way to reach the shower head or adjust it. A hand held would be a better option in my opinion. Also, there are no picnic tables at the sites. We could definately have used one. All in all it is a quiet, nice place to stay. Clean and well maintained.

Our stay in Oct 25 was very relaxing. We accidentally pulled into the KOA campground which is right next door to Desert View. We are so thankful that we DIDN'T have reservations at the KOA because Desert View RV Resort was so much nicer. The privacy of the oleander bushes/hedges on each side of us was wonderful. While the clubhouse was not available to us since it was closed, the pool, laundry and shower facilities were. They were clean and tidy. I would highly recommend Desert View RV Resort.
