Destiny RV Resorts-McIntyre

Overview

Destiny RV Resorts-McIntyre sits directly on the banks of the Colorado River, offering a unique desert oasis experience for travelers. This park is well-regarded for its direct water access and relaxed atmosphere, providing a peaceful retreat for those looking to escape the bustle of the city. It serves as a year-round destination where guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the California-Arizona border while benefiting from modern conveniences. The park successfully balances the thrill of water-based adventure with the quietude of the lower Colorado River valley.

Location & Surroundings

Located just south of the city of Blythe, the park is nestled within the fertile Palo Verde Valley. The surrounding landscape features a striking contrast between lush agricultural fields, the flowing river, and the rugged desert horizon in the distance. Its position directly on the river provides a refreshing microclimate that is often cooler than the surrounding deep desert. This makes it a popular destination for travelers seeking scenic waterfront views and easy access to both aquatic and land-based exploration in a serene environment.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped with full-hookup sites that accommodate various rig sizes, including large motorhomes and travel trailers. Guests have access to essential facilities including clean restrooms, hot showers, and on-site laundry services. One of the most significant features is the private boat launch and sandy beach area, which allow for seamless entry into the river for boating, kayaking, or swimming. The park also maintains a community clubhouse and designated pet-friendly spaces, ensuring a functional and comfortable stay for long-term visitors and weekenders alike.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty of activities to fill their itinerary, from jet skiing and fishing on the river to exploring the mysterious Blythe Intaglios nearby. These massive prehistoric geoglyphs etched into the desert floor represent a significant historical site for hikers and history buffs. For those who enjoy land-based adventures, the surrounding desert offers miles of off-roading trails and opportunities for bird-watching. Additionally, the proximity to the town of Blythe ensures that local dining and shopping are always within a short driving distance.

We took our pop up and totally enjoyed our time here! From Rancho Cucamonga it's 185 miles and the closest spot on "The River" from home, we left 57 degrees and enjoyed 84 degrees. The management, Tom and his son Anthony made it apparent that service and a smile go a long way. Thanks for the portable campfire with the BEST wood I've ever burned! The market was well stocked, showers and bathrooms were maintained daily, and the residents were a kick! Great laid back, ready to help. The surroundings are perfect for lagoon and canal fishing, has a mellow swim area as well as easy put in for some river running. Morning walks through the irrigated alfalfa fields or along the Colorado banks, incredible stars without ambient light. Check out the Intaglios, ancient figures in the sand, just 17 miles above Blythe, well worth the side trip.

Needed a place for a one night stay. I will say that the man that took our reservation and helped us find a site was very accommodating. The campground, however, is deplorable. The electric is screwed up, our Watchdog gave us an error on two different sites. The camper next to us had a sewer hose out and there is no sewer hookup. Most of the people there are full time and their RV's are ancient. The view of the river is nice, but it's a one and done here for us.

Nasty water you can't even wash your clothes or dishes in. Some rules apply for some, by some. Some don't. Not a very professionally ran business going on here. Electric for the hookup is not correct. No grounds I could see. Super rude staff. Mostly full-time living going on here.

We needed an overnight stop and Destiny was a great option. They only had one spot left which was in the grassy field next to the bathrooms/showers so our only neighbors were trees which provided a bit of shade. There was even a 50Amp plug on the side of the building we could use. Tom, the manager, was very friendly and accommodating. The young guy that greeted me when we got to the office was also very friendly. Before we took off in the morning we walked over to the boat launch and park area lining the Colorado River. Beautiful setting in the middle of the desert.
