Upon checking in I would have said I'd give this place two stars. The roads are pretty muddy. The water connection was leaking. There are a lot of permanent campers here, typically a place that I would avoid if I knew that ahead of time. Not typical of KOA. The next day they fixed the faucet. I discovered a walking trail around a beautiful pond with geese. And realized it wasn't that bad. Still not up to KOA standards I'm used to but I would come back and would recommend this place as long as it isn't raining LOL

Stayed this past weekend and had the most amazing time. I booked because I saw it was their halloween weekends! Joined in for all their fun festivities, the management and employees all did a wonderful job keeping things fun and safe. Truly a wonderful group of workers at this KOA. Everything was clean, and everyone had an absolute blast here.

I’m honestly baffled that I’ve come here to leave a review because of the disrespect we endured from the so-called “co-owner.” I usually keep my mouth shut and move on, but this needs to be heard. Be your own judge of character. I visited the KOA campground this past weekend with my husband and our two little ones. My parents also joined us, and our friends were camping there as well. This trip was about giving the kids a fun experience, not us adults. First of all, no one informed us that it was “Halloween weekend” at the campground. Many guests were caught off guard, scrambling for candy, decorations, and costumes last minute. Not sure where the lack of communication occurred, but clearly someone dropped the ball. No big deal, we moved on and still enjoyed some of the events. My kids loved making the tie-dye shirts, which were around $20 and well worth it. However, things went downhill at the tractor ride. The line was long, but since it was for the kids, we patiently waited. When it was finally our turn, we were cut off and told to wait for the next ride, another 25 minutes. While we were waiting, two families blatantly cut in front of us. When the tractor came again, they loaded on while we were stopped once more. We immediately explained that we had already waited 30 minutes and that those families had cut the line. We couldn’t stress this enough how unfair this was for our children. Before we could respond further, he shut the entrance to the tractor and shockingly demanded that we be removed from the property. Literally. All we did was stand up for our children, who were now crying from the stress of the situation. Instead of resolving the issue fairly, this man escalated it beyond belief. He even called the cops and insisted we move our trailer at 9 p.m. He acted like we were going to murder him, and completely acted so crazy in this situation. 4 families I mind you stuck up at this movement for their children. While waiting for the police, he returned with employees who, I will say, were very kind. Unfortunately, he cut them off every time they tried to speak and dismissed them harshly. It was uncomfortable to watch, especially seeing their worried expressions. At one point, he even admitted that other guests in line confirmed our story and acknowledged how poorly it had been handled. They confirmed every bit of the story. Even after admitting entirely that he was wrong, despite this, he still wanted us gone. When the police arrived, they quickly realized no one was being hostile and saw no reason for removal. They left. But the co-owner’s behavior didn’t stop there, he was visibly aggressive, even punching a tree in front of my children. At that point, my kids refused to go near the ride again because of how he acted. This entire ordeal was unnecessary, unprofessional, and frightening for my children. We came to escape the chaos of the world for a quiet weekend, only to find the same kind of hostility and disrespect we were trying to get away from. We will never step foot in this campground again. To the co-owner: you should be ashamed of how you handled this. You traumatized children over something that could have been resolved with basic respect and professionalism.

Stopped here while traveling home from the UP. The location is nice right off of I75. Be ready to open up your wallet. Kids want to swim on the inflatables? They charge extra for that. Do you want to take a relaxing kayak paddle? They charge extra for that. Feel like riding around in the pedal carts that are usually left abandoned at other campgrounds? Yep you guessed it they charge extra for that as well. The campground is nice and the staff is friendly, the sites are small but several areas are shaded with nice mature trees. The beach is nice and the water was warm during our mid August trip.

While the location itself is beautiful and clearly has a lot of potential, the park's execution and focus seem to fall short of providing a quality camping experience. Almost every spot is on dirt, and all the driving paths are dirt as well. A thunderstorm on our first night confirmed our fears; the entire park turned into a complete swamp after a downpour. Given the park's clear focus on maximizing profit, one would think a little bit of gravel wouldn't be too much of a financial strain. There is only one restroom and shower area, and it's located all the way at the main reception building. For those of us located in spots further away, the walk to and from the shower meant that by the time you returned to your site, you practically needed another one. Our specific site, #9, was one of the worst offenders. It was so cramped that our neighbor's sewer hookup was practically right at the bottom of our entry steps. It's an example of how the park seems to be trying to maximize the number of sites without considering the basic comfort and privacy of their guests. In summary, this KOA is a beautiful space with a lot of natural potential that is unfortunately being held back by poor planning and a lack of investment in basic site improvements. As long-time KOA customers, we've come to expect much better. If you do decide to stay here, we'd recommend looking for spots by the lake. While they're still on dirt, they are at least more spacious, so you won't feel like a sardine in a can (or have to deal with the sewer smell from your neighbor).

Thank you KOA for a very pleasant first visit camping. Right from the start, of course, I had minor issues setting up my camper. Skill trades people arrived quickly, fixed the issue, and assured me of their support. We walked around the lake many times. There are a variety of birds, to my surprise. It reminded me of my bird watching days. While I was disconnecting, a grounds person, Mike, helped disconnect my sewage line. It was impossible for me. Please thank all the employees of a job well done, especially Mike. He had other jobs to handle. I interrupted his work, but, he was so professional and helpful when he didn't have to. Thank you, KOA! I will be back and look forward to my future camping experiences.

Nice clean cabin on the water. Friendly staff. Giant swimming area and beach. Perfect location just far enough for a trip from Toledo. Plenty of things for the grand kids to do that don't cost a fortune. Looking forward to the holiday weekend tons of activities.

Such a wonderful staff, everyone is so kind and helpful. The Managers Sean and Chris are super nice and helpful. The housekeepers are great, especially Patty. Bathrooms are well kept. Store has had some great changes. The woman who answered the phone in the store to make my reservation was so kind, very helpfulI and answered all of my questions, I believe her name was Samantha. I will definitely be calling again soon to stay here again!!!

Surprised this is a KOA!!! The roads around and through the campground are to the point of not being drivable! Just mud/dirt with giant holes EVERYWHERE! No landscaping what so ever. No gravel anywhere...not in the sites, not on the pathways of mud that they call a road. For the amount you spend a night I would recommend staying elsewhere! Thank goodness we only stayed for one night and if we head back that way again we will be looking for a different campground.

We spent several days camped here in December-January, preparing to travel west for the winter. We needed access to hookups and space to connect the tow vehicle. The site was really perfect for this purpose, even under 6" of snow. The owners were helpful, the rate was great, and from what I could see in the dead of winter, the campground and lake would make for some good camping in happier weather.

We needed an overnight to break up a long drive that was new Ann Arbor. While reading the initial reviews didn't give me full confidence in what we would find, we feel this place is a gem! We had a pull through site that was shaded and we felt was spacious. The campground was quiet. We didn't need the facilities so I can't speak to those. My son LOVED that fishing was available and he was able to catch several small fish in the time we were there. Given its proximity to Detroit and Ann Arbor, this would be a great launching point. We would recommend this campground!

Nice stay was cool and rainy. Ice cream was good but different people gave different sizes for the same order need to work on their sizing, but still a reasonable price. The trail around lake was nice, the tractor rides people seemed to enjoy. By 10 the park was real quiet. Lots of dead trees that need to come down before they come down on their own, the one on our lot you could see right through it hollow all the way down from hole which was about three feet up the tree not sure how high up the tree it went was scared to put my arm in the middle of it.

Nothing was available to do. SitesTo close together. Noisy neighbors. Rain puddles everywhere hard to walk dogs.
