Devil's Lake

Overview

Devil’s Lake RV Park offers a serene coastal retreat on the edge of Lincoln City, Oregon. This destination bridges the gap between a freshwater lakeside experience and the rugged beauty of the Pacific Ocean nearby. Visitors enjoy a tranquil atmosphere where the wind through the pines replaces the noise of the highway, making it a favorite for those seeking a peaceful stay in the Pacific Northwest. The park is known for its cleanliness and a welcoming feel that makes travelers feel at home.

Location & Surroundings

The park is ideally situated on the eastern side of Lincoln City, providing easy access to the Devil’s Lake State Recreation Area. Unlike many coastal parks that face harsh ocean winds, this location offers a more sheltered environment protected by hills. The surrounding landscape is characterized by lush wetlands and dense evergreen forests, creating a vibrant natural habitat for local birdlife. It is one of the few places where you can enjoy lakefront activities while being less than a mile from the crashing waves of the Oregon Coast.

Amenities & Park Features

Guests can expect well-maintained facilities designed for modern travelers, including full hookup sites that accommodate various rig sizes and slide-outs. The park features the following conveniences:

  • Paved pads and level parking surfaces for easy setup.
  • Clean laundry facilities and accessible restrooms.
  • High-speed Wi-Fi and cable access for connectivity.

Each site typically includes a private picnic table and fire ring, allowing for classic outdoor camping experiences in a refined setting.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor recreation is the primary draw here, with the lake providing endless opportunities for kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing for trout, bass, and perch. A short drive leads to the D River State Recreation Site, known for being the home of the world's shortest river and a prime spot for beachcombing and kite flying. Visitors often visit the Chinook Winds Casino for evening entertainment or browse the local outlet mall for shopping, while the nearby Drift Creek Falls offers a spectacular suspension bridge and forest hike.

Who This Park Is Best For

This location is ideal for active families and retirees who want a mix of water-based recreation and urban convenience. It serves as a perfect base camp for those who want to explore the central Oregon Coast without sacrificing the amenities of a developed town. Camped here a few times. Small, clean campground. Walk to the lake, beach and fantastic restaurant. I will return.

We had a great time tent camping at Devils Lake! Sites were lovely, bathrooms and showers were clean. Campground is right in the middle of Lincoln City, short walk to the beach. Would recommend.

I had been giving this place a pass for years, since camping right in the middle of town never seemed very appealing. However, I had some last minute vacation plans change and figured I'd give it a go so I booked a couple of nights here with my sons. I AM SO GLAD I DID! The grounds are very well maintained, the park staff is friendly, and the location is as private as you can get for being within city limits We figured it would be noisy being so close to 101, but it was very tranquil! Being within walking distance of both the lake and the ocean were big plusses. The facilities (showers, bathrooms, campsites) were spotless, and there was easy access to potable water, firewood, garbage collection, etc. One thing that stood out was there was almost NO bugs! Figured being so close to the lake, mosquitoes would be a problem, but nope! Didn't even have to break out bug spray or citronella candles this trip, which was unusual (very welcome!) Lastly, our visit coincided with a tsunami warning triggered by a large earthquake of the coast of Russia, so the entire coast was on alert. Rangers came by a couple of times to update us on the current status, which I appreciated greatly, even though we were monitoring the advisories ourselves. Again, kudos to the staff there for being on point with campers and guests! I would highly recommend everyone give this place a look and don't let the location dissuade you from booking a spot here!

Nice but a warm lake and lots of algae. An abundance of skunks cabbage tells me it stays moist so bring your mosquito repellent.

We rented a yurt here and had a great time. The kids rode their hearts out around the campground and had a blast fishing. The lake is stocked with trout and all the kids were catching. Very friendly staff, clean camp and restrooms.
