Dixie/White Bridge
Overview
White Bridge Campground offers a serene escape within the Dixie National Forest. Located at an elevation of approximately 8,200 feet, this US Forest Service facility provides a rustic mountain experience far from the noise of urban life. Travelers looking for a cool, high-altitude retreat will appreciate the towering pines and quaking aspens that shade many of the sites. It serves as a peaceful basecamp for exploring Southern Utah’s red rock country while remaining tucked away in the lush greenery of the Panguitch Lake area.
Location & Surroundings
Situated along Highway 143, the campground sits on the Patchwork Parkway National Scenic Byway. The setting is defined by the gentle sounds of Panguitch Creek, which flows adjacent to several of the campsites. The surrounding landscape transitions from volcanic rock formations to dense forests, offering a unique geological backdrop for visitors. Because of its elevation, the air is crisp and significantly cooler than the nearby desert basins, making it a premier summer destination for those looking to beat the heat.
Amenities & Park Features
As a traditional forest service site, the focus here is on natural beauty rather than resort-style luxuries. The park features paved interior roads and parking pads, which help level out the mountain terrain for various RV lengths. Amenities are basic but well-maintained, including vault toilets and potable water hydrants. Each site is equipped with a sturdy picnic table and a fire ring for evening campfires under the stars. While there are no utility hookups or dump stations on-site, the spacious layouts provide a sense of privacy and immersion in the wild.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of activities within a short drive. Panguitch Lake is located just a few miles away, renowned for offering some of the best trout fishing in Utah and various boating opportunities. For those willing to explore further, the spectacular hoodoos of Bryce Canyon National Park are less than an hour's drive away. Additionally, the stunning overlooks and hiking trails of Cedar Breaks National Monument are easily accessible via the scenic byway, providing vibrant wildflower displays in mid-summer.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is ideal for RVers who prefer dry camping and a quiet, natural environment over high-density commercial parks. It is a perfect fit for nature photographers, trout fishers, and hikers who want to be steps away from the trail. If your travel style involves unplugging and enjoying high-elevation scenery while staying centrally located between Utah's famous national monuments, this campground provides the perfect balance of rustic solitude and convenience.

An incredibly beautiful, peaceful and friendly campground. Great for kids, adults and seniors Especially nice if camping with great natural neighbors. Paul, always generous, left me with fuel, firewood and food. Talk about hospitality! Bill W. Cedar City

Beautiful place next to the Panguitch River nestled under trees for shade. The hosts were very friendly and kept the place very clean. Noise from the nearby road was noticeable, but it quieted down in the evening, so the only sound was the gurgling of the river. I'd stay there again.

This is my second year coming up to this quiet, cool, beautiful campground. The absolute best part was Ron and Gina Cummins, the best campground caregivers and warm hearted people I've had the pleasure of being their guests. So helpful, knowledgeable about the area, as well as campers in general. Their experience shows! Freshly painted buildings, all the sites are always clean and cared for. I want to give them 100 ⭐'s not just 5!!!

A beautiful drive to a beautiful place was what we needed. Surrounded by trees, hills, and mountains was enough to make us forget about the hustle and bustle of every day life. Greeting us was camp hosts Theda and her husband. Friendly and helpful, they helped us get aquatinted with the place. Campsites are clean, roomy enough and right next a beautiful sounding creek. The sound is enough to put you to sleep, given that you like the sound of continuous flowing water. The main road is just near the campsites, but it isn't busy. Restrooms are clean, a comfort that is a must when camping but if need be, a non-flushable toilet is just as good. When camping, you don't need all the fancies of home, it defeats the purpose of camping. However, no showers are available here. A small road near the camp led to a beautiful short hike. Being in the quietness of it all made our camping experience so peaceful. Not to worry, there were no bears in site or around to hinder our stay. We had a delightful time here, our hosts were amazing, and overall it was a great experience we'll never forget. Just please abide by what the hosts aquire of tenants. Park on the pavement (to which enough space is provided) as to prevent the eroding of what is naturally around. It is after all, it is a National Park and preserving what is left is precious. In addition, this place is close to town and a gorgeous gorgeous lake (Panguitch lake). There are many sites to visit, places to cruise to, and hikes to venture forth on in the vicinity.
